The GRT500 offers a selec- tion of weight stations designed to develop every major muscle group of the body .
5 Assembly Make sure you have the following tools: ¥ T wo (2) adjustable wrenches ¥ One (1) standard screwdriver ¥ One (1) phillips screwdriver ¥ One (1) rubber mallet ¥ Y ou will also need grease or petroleum jelly , a small amount of soapy water , and clear tape or masking tape.
6 1. Open the parts bag labeled ÒFRAME ASSEMBL Y .Ó Press a 2Ó Square Inner Cap (33) and a 2Ó x 3Ó Inner Cap (24) into the Main Upright (3) in the indicated locations.
6. Press two 2Ó Square Inner Caps (33) into the Press Frame (12). Disassemble the pre-attached Pivot Rod (27). Attach the Press Frame (12) to the Main Upright (3) with the Pivot Rod, the two Large W ashers (53), and the two 3/8Ó Nylon Locknuts (63) as shown.
8 7. Open the parts bags labeled ÒCABLE ASSEMBL YÓ and Ò4 PULLEYSÓ. Refer to the Cable Diagram on page 16 as you assemble the cables. Identify the High Cable (73), which has a ball on one end and a bolt on the other end . Locate the end of the High Cable (73) with the bolt.
10. Wrap the High Cable (73) around a 4Ó Pulley (35) in the direction shown. Attach the Pulley to the Press Frame (12) with a 3/8Ó x 8 1/2Ó Bolt (59) and a 3/8Ó Nylon Locknut (50). Feed the bolt on the High Cable (73) back through the slot in the Main Upright (3) in the direction shown.
10 12. Disassemble the pre-assembled Pulley Plates (31). Wrap the High Cable (73) around a 4Ó Pulley (35) in the direction shown. Attach the Pulley to the upper holes in the indi cated ends of the Pulley Plates (31) with a 3/8Ó x 1 3/4Ó Bolt (60), a Cable T rap (44), and a 3/8Ó Nylon Jamnut (63).
11 18. Route the Low Cable (72) through the indicated slot in the Main Upright (3) and the Base (8). Wrap the Low Cable (72) around a 4Ó Pulley (35) in the direction shown. Attach the Pulley inside the weld- ed bracket on the Main Upright (3) with a 3/8Ó x 2Ó Bolt (62) and a 3/8Ó Nylon Locknut (50).
22. IMPORT ANT: Follow both cables from end to end; make sure that the cables are in the grooves of all of the pulleys and that the cables and pulleys move smoothly . Unscrew the bolt at the end of the High Cable (73) from the Weight Tube (36). Thread the 1/2Ó Plain Nut (68) halfway onto the bolt.
13 84 90 90 46 87ÑLubricate 63 Ta b 46 12 85 86 74 74 24. Attach the Seat (13) to the Seat Upright (37) with four 1/4Ó x 3/4Ó Bolts (17). T urn the Adjustment Knob (9) counterclockwise to loosen it. Pull out the Knob as far as possible and slide the Seat Upright (37) into the seat frame on the Main Upright (3).
14 27. Press 3/4Ó Round Inner Caps (34) into the ends of the two Pad T ubes (28). Slide one Pad T ube (28) into the hole in the front leg on the Base (8). Slide a Foam Pad (30) onto each end of the Pad T ube. Slide the other Pad T ube (28) into the hole in the Leg Lever (29).
15 29 38 38 5 29. Slide the four T innerman Clips (38) down over the slots in the bracket on the Stabilizer (5). 32. Make sure that all parts have been properly tightened. The use of the remaining parts will be explained in ADJUSTMENT , beginning on page 17 of this manual.
4 16 Cable Diagram The diagram below shows the proper routing of the Low Cable (72) and the High Cable (73). The numbers show the correct route for each Cable. Make sure that the Cables are routed correctly , that the pulleys move smoothly , and that the cable traps do not touch or bind the Cables.
Attaching the Lat Bar , Row Bar , Ankle Strap, or Ab Strap The Lat Bar (61), Row Bar (70), Ankle Strap (10), and Ab Strap (75) can be attached to the cable at the desired pulley station with a Cable Clip (69). For some exercises, the Chain (67) should be connected between the attach- ment and the cable with two Cable Clips.
Adjusting the Position of the Backrest T o adjust the position of the Backrest (41), first loosen the indicated Adjustment Knob (9). Pull out the Knob as far as possible and slide the Backrest Frame (15, not shown) to the desired position. Release the Knob so that it snaps into one of the adjustment holes on the Backrest Frame.
19 Tightening the Cables Woven cable, the type of cable used on the training sys- tem, can stretch slightly when it is first used. If there is slack in the cables before resistance is felt, the cables should be tightened. T o tighten the cables, first insert the Weight Pin (39) under the third Weight (26) from the top.
