105 Section 11: Health and Saf ety Infor mation This section outlines th e safety precautions associated with using your phone. These safety prec autions should be followed to safely use your phone.
Health and Safety Information 106 contains no meta l and that positions the handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from the body . Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines.
107 UL Cer tified T r av el Adapter The T ravel Ada pter for this phone has met applicable UL safety requirements. Please ad here to the followi ng safety instructions per UL guidelines. F AILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTR UCTIONS OUTLIN ED MA Y LEAD TO SERIOUS PERS ONAL INJURY AN D POSSIBLE PROPER TY DAMAGE.
Health and Safety Information 108 Whereas high levels of R F can pr oduce health effe cts (by heating tissue), exposure to low level RF that does not produce heating effects causes no known adverse h ealth ef fects. Many studies of low level RF exposures have no t found any biolog ical effects.
109 FCC also regulates the base st ations that the wireless phone networks rely u pon. While these base statio ns operate at higher power than do the wireless phones themselves, the RF exposures that people get f rom these base sta tions are typical ly thousands of t imes lower than th ose they can get from wireless phones.
Health and Safety Information 110 This is because t he interval between the t ime of exposure to a cancer -causing agent and the time tumors develop - if they do - may be many , many years. The inte rpretation of epidemio logical studies is hampered by difficulties in measuring actual RF exposure during day- to-day use of wireless phones.
111 Again, the scientific data do not demonstrate that wireless phones are harmful. But if you are concerned about the RF exposure from these products, you can use measures like th ose described above to reduce your RF exposure from wireless phone use.
Health and Safety Information 112 Studies have shown that these pro ducts generally do not work as advertised. Unli ke "hand-free" ki ts, these so-called "shields" may interfere with proper opera tion of the phon e. The phone may be forced to boost its power to compensa te, leading to an increase in RF absorption.
