2 W arning Foreign Objects • Should any foreign matter get into the Pock et PC T er minal, immediately turn off the po wer and contact your or iginal dealer or an authorized CASIO service provider . Continued use creates the danger of fire and electric shock.
3 Caution LCD Screen • Ne ver apply strong pressure to the screen or subject it to strong impact. Doing so can crack the screen or LCD panel glass, which can cause the danger of personal injury . • Should the LCD panel glass break, ne ver touch the liquid inside.

5 Caution • Should fluid from the battery pack accidentally get onto clothing or your skin, immediately rinse it of f with clean tap water . Prolonged contact with battery pack fluid can cause skin irritation. • K eep the battery pack out of the reach of small children.
6 Caution • Nev er throw the battery , subject it to strong impact. Do not allow the batter y to get wet with water . Doing so can create the danger of battery leakage, heat emission, rupture, and fire. • Do not leav e the battery in locations subject to strong direct sunlight or in high temperature locations such as in a car .

20 Setting Up the Pocket PC T erminal Aligning the T ouch Screen Y ou should align the T ouch Screen whenever you feel its response is not what it should be, or when the wrong function is performed when you tap the T ouch Screen. 1. Press the Fn ke y and then press “ 4 ” to display the T ouch Screen alignment screen.
21 Configuring the Auto Dimmer (IT -700M30E/M30RC) The auto dimmer helps to conserve battery power by dimming the screen whenever you do not perform any Pock et PC T er minal operation for a preset amount of time. Use the following procedure to configure auto dimmer settings.
22 Using IR Data Communication Infrared (IR) data communication can be used to pass data between two Pocket PC T erminals, etc. When performing IR data communication, make sure the IR port of the Pocket PC T erminal and the other unit are directly in line with each other .
23 Power Requirements The Pocket PC T erminal has a dual power supply , with a main battery to provide po wer for normal Pocket PC T erminal operations, and a memory backup battery to provide the power to retain memory contents.
24 T o replace the Standard Battery Pack 1. Make sure that Pocket PC T erminal po wer is turned off. If power is on, press the Po wer key to turn it of f. 2. T urn the Pocket PC T erminal ov er . 3. Slide the battery pack cover release to the [FREE] position, and then remove the cov er .
25 T o replace a Large-capacity Battery Pack Y ou must use the special large-capacity battery pack co ver whene ver you are using a large-capacity battery pack to po wer the Pocket PC T erminal.
26 W arning Make sure that the plus (+) and minus sides of the backup battery are facing correctly when you place it onto the backup battery holder . Caution Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equi valent type recommended by the manufacturer .
27 The reset operation performs a process that is similar to that performed when you restart your computer . Any unsa ved inputs or edits remaining w hen you reset the Pocket PC T erminal are lost, but settings and data stored in memory are retained.
28 Full Reset (Memory Initialization) Performing a full reset clears all data stored in Pocket PC T er minal memory (RAM) and returns all settings to their initial factory defaults.

33 Using the Optical Communication Unit (IT -760IOE) The Optical Communication Unit (IT -760IOE) provides a serial interface (RS-232C) connection between a Pocket PC T erminal and computer for downloading and uploading system data, files, etc. It can also be used to char ge the battery pack loaded in the Pocket PC T erminal.

35 Optical Communication Unit Power Requirements Use the AC adaptor that comes with the Optical Comm unication Unit to power it. Be sure to connect the AC ada ptor to the Optical Communication Unit before starting a data communication operation with a Pocket PC T erminal.

37 DIP Switch Settings The DIP switches are location on the back of the Optical Communication Unit. Y ou can control the basic configuration of the Optical Communication Unit by turning the DIP switches on and off in v arious combinations. Important Use only the settings shown above.
38 W all Mounting the Optical Communication Unit Y ou can use the W all Mount Unit that comes with the Optical Communication Unit to configure it for wall mounting. 1. Attach the terminal support to the Optical Communication Unit. 2. Secure the terminal support in place with the two screws.
39 5. Press in on the sides of the base at the four locations indicated by arrows in the illustration to disengage the base tabs, and then remov e the base from the Optical Communication Unit. 6. 52 Loading a Card into Slot 1 Slot 1 is mainly intended for use as a memory expansion slot. Since y ou have to remo ve the main battery (battery pack) in order to load or remove a card from Slot 1, you should use it for a card you plan to leav e loaded in the Pocket PC T erminal for long periods.
53 7. Replace the Slot 1 cov er . • Do not push the special tape all the way into the slot. Leave the end sticking out so you can use it the next time you need to remove the card from the slot. 8. Reload the main battery (battery pack), replace the battery pack cov er , and slide the battery pack cover release back to the [LOCK] position.
