Selecti ng and Playing a Tone E-9 You can use the following procedure to assign one of the 20 Various tones , 128 GM tones, or 2 Drum sets to the VARIOUS/G M TONES button. After that you can select the as signed ton e by pressin g the VARIOUS/ GM TO NES button.

E-14 Playing a Rhythm NO TE • With the rhythms listed below, make sure that CASIO CHORD, FINGERED , or FULL RANGE CHORD is selected before you try play ing chords. The volume of percussion instruments is ve ry low, and percuss ion is inserted in a way that does not interfere with the overall mood of the rhythm.
Playing a Rhythm E-15 How to Play Chords The way you finger chord s depends on the current Auto Accompaniment mode. If you want to play without Auto Accompaniment, use the N ORMAL mode.
E-16 Playing a Rhythm FINGERED In the FINGERED mode, you play standard chord fingerings in the accompaniment keyboard range to play chords. To finger a C chord, for example, you would press the C-E -G keys.

E-18 Playin g Back Bui lt-in Songs The Music Library includes both built-in songs (01 to 60), plus up to 10 songs (61 to 70) that have been saved to digit al piano m emory from a computer * or SD memory card (page E-32). You can use th e procedure below to select one of these songs and play it back.

While play back is in progress, hold down the FF button. • This skips forward t hrough the song m easure -by- measure. • The measure nu mber appears on the display whil e you are sk ipping forward. 2. When you r each the poi nt you want , releas e the FF button to resume playback.
E-20 Recor ding and Pla y Bac k You can store the notes you play in digital piano memory for later playback. You can have up to five songs in memory at one time. A track is a container of re corded data, and each song consists of two tracks: Track 1 and Track 2.
Recording and Play Back E-21 After recording to either of the tracks of a song, you ca n record to the other track while listening to playback what you recorded in the first track. To record to a specifi c track of a specific song 1. Press the RECORDER button so the PLAY lamp is lit.
E-22 Reco rding and Play Back To record to one track of a song while listening to the playback of the other trac k 1. Press the RECORDER bu tton so the PLAY lamp is lit. 2. Use the /NO and /YES buttons to display a song number ( 1 to 5). 3. Press the RECORDER bu tton so the REC lamp is flashing.
