11 5 Planning Switch Stacks Before connecting the switches in a stack, keep in mind these stacking g uidelines: • Size of the switch and any optional power supp ly module. The 1150-W power supply module is longer than the other modules. Stacking switch es with the same power supply modules together makes it easier to cable the switch es.
12 Stack Cabling Configurations These illustrations show the recommended switch stack configurations with redundant StackWise cabling connections for optimized stack bandwidth. For more configuration examples, see the hardware installation guide on Cisco.
13 Side-By-Side Stacking In this example, eight switches are stacked side-by- side w ith redundant connections by using 0.5- and 3-meter StackWis e cables. In this example, nine switch es are stacked side-by- side with redundant connections by using 0.
14 6 Rack-Mounting This section covers basic 19-inch rack-mounting and sw itch port connections. As a n example, all the illustrations show the Catalyst 3750E-48 PoE switch. Y ou can install and connect other Catalyst 3750-E switches as shown in these illustr ations.
