3 1. GENERAL OPERATION • R ead, unders tand, and fol low all instructi ons in the operator’s manual and on the mac hine be for e st arti ng. Keep this manual i n a safe p lace for future and regular re ference and for ordering rep lacement pa rts.
4 • Never leave a running machine unattended. Always turn off blade(s), place transmission in neutral, set park brake, stop engine and remove key before dismounti ng.
5 • Use extra care wi th grass c atchers or other attac hments. Th ese can change th e stabili ty of the m achine. • Keep all movemen t on t he slope s slow a nd gradual .
6 • To reduce f ire hazard, keep the machine free of gr ass, leav es or other debri s build -up. Clean up oil or fuel spil lage. 15 • Place the PTO switc h in the “ OFF ” position. Place the throttle contro l lever between the “ MID ” and “ FAST ” positions . Then turn the ignitio n key to the “ OFF ” position and rem ove the key from the ignition swit ch. Dri ving The T ract or WARNING: Avoid sudden starts, excessiv e speed a nd sudden s tops.
16 Avoid stopp ing when driving up a slope. If i t is nece ssary to s top whil e driving up a sl ope, star t up smoothly and carefull y to reduce t he possibilit y of flippin g the tract or over bac kward.
17 For best results it is re commended that the first t wo laps should be cut w ith the discharge thr own towar ds the center. After the first two laps, reverse the direc- tion to t hrow t he discharge to the outsi de for the balance of cutting. This will give a better ap pearance to the law n.
18 For the comf ort of t he operator, this trac- tor is equip ped with an adjustabl e tilt steering wh eel. To adjust the st eering wheel: push the stee ring wheel tilt lock lever downw ard, move the steeri ng wheel t o the desired position, and release the steering wheel tilt lock lever.
