13 12 2.3 Inserting an SD card An SD/MM C card can be install ed in the camer a to provide dditional storag e space for still images, videos, o r other fi les. a T o install an SD card: 1. Open the batter y door . 2. Insert an SD card as shown. Make sure the g old contac ts are facing up as shown.

26 3.3 Shutter priority mode Shutter priority mode is a semi-autom atic mode. Y ou select he shutter speed, and the camera sets everyt hing else. t 3.3.1 Using shutter priority mode Shutter priority mode is the only mode in which you can set the shutter speed manually .

33 The camera is eq uipped with a 3x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom . Th e optical zoom p hy sically adjusts the lens to magnify the image. The digital z oom simply enla rges the image. When usi ng the zoom function the camera uses the optical zoom as far as possibl e, and then the digital zoom.
32 3.4 Auto Mode Auto mode is a full y automati c mode. In normal conditions, automatic mode is lik ely to b e the best option as y ou don’ t have to change any settings. 3.4.1 Using au to mode 1. Use the m ode dial to sw itch th e camera to A M ode.

Connecting to a computer Connect to a computer as d e scribed in “Connecting to a computer” on 2.9.1 . Files stored on the camera can then be ransferred to the computer hard drive. t When connected to a computer your camera mem ory will appear as a removable disk .

3.9.3 Menu options The menu options in vid eo mode are almost exa ctly the same as in Manual mode. See “Menu options” on 3.5 .6 . However , in video mode there is no fac ility to change the pixel setting, and there ar e only two opti ons, sound and color mode, available in the deta ils menu.

Print Use the print fun ction to set the DPOF settings for each photo for printing. Y ou can tag all pictures to b e printed or just the current picture . Y ou can also se lect how copies are printed and whether to include the date and time. The DPOF function requires a m emory card.

3.12 DPS mode DPS is a standard that enables you to connect the camera directly to a printer using th e USB interface. T o u se the DSP function, you must have a com patibl e printer . Using the DSP function you can print photos str aight from the camera to a printer .
