2 Getting started Read this section to learn h ow to start usin g the video camera. This section cover s basic func tions suc h as switching o n, inserting the battery and memory cards, and co nfiguring preliminary sett ings. See later chapters for advanced funct ions.

2.2 Inserting the batteries This video camera is desig ned to use four(4) AAA batteries. Only use the battery supplied or similar battery recom mended by the manufacturer or your dealer. Note : Install the batt eries exactly as described here. Ensure that the polarity of th e batteries is correct .
2.3 Turning on for the first time Slide the power switch to turn th e video camera on/off. 2.4 Changing modes The video camera can operate in five modes, Movie , Pho to , MP3 , Voice, and SET .
