7 I-5. Product Label The product label lo cated on the bac k of the camera displays the MAC address and cloud ID of yo ur network camera . The MAC address and cloud ID are the same for easy reference. The cloud ID allow s you to view a live stream from your network camera remotely (from any Internet c onnection) as des cribed later in I II - 4.
8 I-6. Reset If you experience problems wit h your network cam era, you can reset the camera back to its factory defaul t setting s. This resets all setting s back to default. 1. Press and hold the WPS /Reset button found on the back panel for at least 10 seconds 2.
9 II. Hardware Installatio n II-1. Mounting Kit A stand for your networ k camera i s included in the pac kage content s. The stand re quires some assembly. 1. Assemble the included cam era stand a s shown b elow. The cam era stand can stand by itself or be mounted to a wa ll: 2.
10 2. Connec t the p ower adapter to the n etwork camera’s power port and to a power supply, as shown b elow. 3. Wait a mom ent for the ca mera to power on. The ca mera is ready when t he green power LED displays on . Please refer to III. Camera Se tup & EdiView Finder to setup yo ur network camera.
11 III. Camera Setup & EdiView Finder Your network cam era can be up and runni ng in just a few minut es. First, please follow the instructi ons below for Windows or Mac i n III-1. Installing & Using EdiView Finder to inst all the EdiVi ew Finder software and connect your camera to your wireless n etwork.
12 4. When in stallation is complete , s el e ct “Launch Edi View Finder Utili ty” before clicking “Finish” . O r double click the ”Edi View Finder Utili ty” i con on your desktop to launch Edi View Finder.
13 The network camera’s IP address is displayed on this screen. After setup, you can enter this IP address into the URL bar of a web browser on the same local network to access your network camera’s web -based configuration interface.
14 7. Select your wireless networ k from the list an d enter the correct password in the “Password” field, before clicking “OK”. Thi s is the wireless network which your camer a will connect to. 8. Unplug the Et hernet cable from you r network camera a nd click “Next”.
15 9. When the conn ection is detected a s shown below, plea se click “Next”. 10. Ent er a name and pa ssword for your camera. The password wil l be used later to log in to your camera remotely via it s cloud ID , web int erface or via the EdiView smartph one app.
16 11. Th e next screen will in dicate that setup is complete. Th e camera is operational and r e ady for use. Click “ OK” and a preview win dow showing a live stream from your ca mera may open.
17 I II -1-2. Mac EdiView Finder for Mac will not set up your network camera’s wireless connection. After this chapter, please continue to IV -1-2. Wireless t o set up the camera’s wireless connection. 1. Insert the include d CD into your CD - ROM drive and br owse to the “Mac” folder.
18 3. EdiView Finde r will list all cameras on your local network, along with eac h camera’s name, model, I P address an d MAC ad dress. Click the search icon to refresh the list if your camera is not displayed. The network camera’s IP address is displayed on this sc reen.
19 12. Ent er a name and pa ssword for your came ra. The password wil l be used later to log in to your cam era remotely via its clou d ID, web interfac e or via the EdiView smartph one app. Cli ck “ Next ” to continue. 13. Th e next screen wil l indicate that setup i s complete.
20 I II -2. Using EdiView Finder You can also use E diView Finder to fi nd your network c amera’s IP address, view a live stream, or modif y the network ca mera’s IP address.
21 EdiView Finder will locate your network camera as long as you are on the same local network. Static IP users who may be using a different IP address subnet to the network camera should still be able to locate the network camera with EdiView Finder.
22 II I-3. WPS (Wi-Fi P rotected Setup) The WPS button i s a quick and easy method to establish a secu re wireless connection between you r network camera and you r wireless route r/access point. 1. Press and hol d the WPS button on y our wi reless router/ac cess point for the correct length of ti me to activate its WPS.
23 IV. Web-Based Management Interface When you are usin g the same local network as y our camera, y ou can us e the web-based management i nterface to view or configu re t he camera. You can access the web-based mana gement interface with a web browse r on a smartphone or comput er.
24 2. You may be p rompted to al low a Java add -on to run. Please click t he message where it says “click here” a nd then click “Run Add - on” . If any other security warnings/prompts appear, please select “Run” or “Allow” or similar, depending on your browser.
25 4. For comp uter users, t he “Li ve View” screen will be di splayed, as sho wn below. On the live view screen you can see a l ive stream from you r camera and utilize various camera control s using th e icons on t he left side. 26 Adjust the level of z oom from 100% to 400% using the “Zoom F actor” slide bar an d move the green box to the section of the image you wish to zoom on.

28 IV-1. Basic The “Basic” menu opens a sub menu with eight categories of setti ngs for your netw ork camera’s basic operation. Select a category and refer to the appropriate chapt er.
29 Network Type Select “DHCP” to a utomatical ly assign an IP address to your net work camera from your router, or “Static IP ” to manually set a stat ic IP address. IP Address Specify an IP address he re, which will be the IP address of your networ k camera.
30 IV -1-2. Wireless The wireless page al lows you to configure settings for y our network camera’ s wireless connection. For Windows users, you r wireless conne ction should have been set up a lready using EdiVie w Finder, though y ou can st ill use this page to revise the settings if you nee d.

Your ca mera should now be connected to you r Wi -Fi. A Wireless Connectio n Select “Enable” to enable the wireless connecti on.
35 IV -1-2- 3. WPS WPS (Wi-Fi Protec ted Setup) is a qui ck and easy way to set up wireless connections betw een compatib le devices. Us e the “Start PBC” o r “Start PIN” button to activat e WPS on your network cam era. Your networ k camera’s WPS PIN code is also listed next to “Self PinCode”.
36 IV -1-3. Dynamic DNS Dynamic DNS (DD NS) is a service which provides a host name- to -IP service for dynamic IP users. I f your Internet se rvice provider didn ’ t issue a fi xed IP address, you can u se a third-pa rty dynamic DNS p rovider to map your curren t IP address to a fix ed IP address.
37 IV -1-4. RTSP Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) enables the net work camera to be u sed with a streaming media se rver. Enter the required RTSP setting s. RTSP Port Enter the RTSP por t. MJPEG RTSP Path Enter the MJPEG RTSP pat h. RTP Port Range Enter the RTP port range.
38 IV -1-5. Date & Time You can set and ad just the n etwork camera ’ s system t ime and date on this page. Maint aining a correct system time is particularly i mportant for recorded video organizat ion/playback. Mode Select ”NTP” or “Manua l Setting”.
39 IV -1-6. Users In addit ion to the default administrator account, you can conf igure several different login accounts for the n etwork camera, wit h two different levels of access – operato r and guest.
40 Authority Select the user ’ s authority : Operators can view video and configu re all settings, while g uests can only view v ideo. Add Add a new user. Modify Save the changes to an existing , selected user. Remove Remove selected user. Anonymous Login Enable or disable a nonymous logi n .
41 IV -1-7. UPnP Universal plug-and -play (UPnP) is a set of netwo rking protocols which enables network devices to co mmunicate and aut omatically establi sh working configurations wit h each other. When enabled, Windows comput ers can automatically discover th e network ca mera on the lo cal area netwo rk.
42 IV -1-8. Bonjour Bonjour is a featur e of Mac computers which allows Safari web b rowser to discover devices a nd services on th e local networ k and provide a quic k shortcut for access . When enabled , Safari users on the local network can find a shortcut to the networ k camera under Safari’s “ Bonjour” menu.
43 IV-2. Video The “Video” menu consists of thre e categories for configuring the ne twork camera’s video settings. Select an item fro m the submenu an d refer to the appropriate follow ing chapt er. IV -2-1. Video Settings The “Video Setting s” page enables y ou t o modify the ne twork camera’s resolution and fra me rate setting s.
44 “HD” resolution is selected. H264 Maximum Bi t Rate Select a maximum bit rate for H264 vid eos from the dropdow n menu. A highe r bit rate provides mo re d etailed video but requires more bandwidth. MJPEG Resolution Select a MJPEG video resolu tion from the dropdown menu.
45 IV -2-2. Image Appearanc e The “Image Appearance” page al lows y ou to adjust va rious param eters relating to t he network camera’s ima ge appearance using th e sliders shown below. Brightness/ Contrast/ Saturation/ Sharpness / Click and drag the bl ue lever to chan ge the value according to your prefe rence for each category.
46 IV -2-3. Night Vision Night-visi on allows your network cam era to capture images i n dark environments by u sing infra -red LEDs. Auto-switch wil l detect light levels in your network camera’s environ ment and aut omatically switch to ni ght - vision in low light.
47 IV-3. Events Select an item fro m the “Events” menu a nd refer to the appropriate fol lowing chapter. You can c onfigure settings for motio n detection, schedul ing, SMTP and FTP. IV -3-1. Motion Detection The network came ra features a motion detection funct ion and various op tions for (motion detection) event s notificati on.
48 Motion Detection Enable or disable the motion d etection function of your n etwork camera. Interval Time To Detect After motion is detected, the n etwork camera will not detect mot ion again for this length of time.
49 IV -3-2. Detection Region When using the ne twork camera’s moti on detection function, y ou can specify the area in the vid eo where the net work camera should be sensit ive to motion. Motion outside of the detection region wil l be ignored by the network camera.

53 IV -3-4. SMTP A snapshot image of a motion- detected event can be s ent to a desig nated email recipient. This functi on must be enabled in “Moti on Detection” sett ings in the “Events” menu. Enter the required informati on about your send er and recipient email accounts below.

56 IV -4. System The “System” men u consists of thr ee categories, “Basic”, “Advanced” an d “Cloud Ser vice”. Select a category and follow th e appropriate chapt er for more information.
57 IV -4-2. Advanced The “Advanced” p age allows you to upg rade the network camera’s fi rmware, backup or restore the networ k camera’s s ettings, and r eset or restart the network camera. Please che ck the Edimax websit e for the latest f irmware for your network camera.
58 Reset to default Select “Keep Network Setti ngs” or “Defaul t Settings” and t hen click “Reset to Defau lt”. When the camera resets, “Keep Network Settings” will reset all settings but keep th e current network sett ings. The network camera’s IP addres s will remain the same.

60 IV -5. Status The “Status” menu provides important information about the status of th e network ca mera. This information is useful for troubl eshooting purposes or for network configurati on.

62 IV -5-2. System Log A system log provides inf ormation about the netwo rk camera ’ s usage an d actions. The syste m log can also be s ent to a remote se rver for archiving. Log Level Select a level of det ail for the log from the dropdown list , from 0 - 4 .
63 V. Myedimax.com You can use your n etwork camera’s Myedimax.com cloud I D to monitor your camera remotely using a web br ows er from any Intern et connection. The network camera’s green LED must display on to indicat e a successful clou d connection, in order for this function t o work.

73 VI -3. Configuring the 16 Channel Viewe r VI -3-1. Add Camera/ Camera Configuration In order to use th e 16 channel view er software, you must configu re/add e ach camera(s) that you wish to connect.
74 VI -3-1-1. Camera In the “Camera Co nfiguration” tab you can add and co nfigure all the cameras you wish to connect to the viewer software . To conn ect a camera to the viewer software, you need to enter the required inf ormation in the “Camera Configura ti on” box.
75 Refresh Rescan the list of cameras on your local network. Name Enter the name of the camera here. The default name is th e first 6 bytes of t he camera’s MAC address; you can change t he name of the camera so y ou can remembe r the camera’s location or purpose eas ily.
76 VI -3-1-2. Scheduled Recording In this tab, you ca n setup scheduled video recording, s o you can record t he video captured by al l cameras you have according to a pre-defined s chedule.
77 Channel Select the channel nu mber you wish to set. One Time Sche dules You can specify the one- time schedule for a selected camera; thi s schedule will be executed once only.
78 You can define the recording schedule tha t will be executed at th e specified time of certain weekday(s) in a week. Pl ease check all weekdays that app ly, and set the sta rt time in the ‘From’ field.

Channel Select the channel nu mber you wish to set. Mute Audio Check this box and the netwo rk camera surveillance software will not play the audio captured by this c amera.

Changing the Display Layout This network cam era surveillan ce software provides 8 displ ay layouts: Every layout displays a di fferent number of cameras in different arrangement s , you can click the icon tha t re pr esents a specific layout, and t he video display area will change accordingl y.

93 VI -5. Fu ll Screen Mode If you want to use all available space on your monitor t o display the surveillance image, you can cli ck the ‘Full Screen’ butt on to switch the displ ay mode to full -screen mode. To exit full -screen mode, press the ‘ESC’ key.
94 VI -6. Scan If you have more than one ca mera configu red, and y ou wish to swit ch the display image between cameras, you can click the ‘S can’ button to swit ch between all configured came ras. “Disconnected” will be displayed in the image window when a configured camera is disconnected.
95 VI -7. Zoom In /Out For cameras that s upport the z oom-in / zoo m-out funct ion, you can use th is function to see more obj ects wit hin the camera’s view, or enlarge the ima ge size of a certain object t o see it in detail.
96 VI -8. Pan & Tilt For cameras that s upport pan - tilt function s, you can chang e the direction that the camera p oints to, to see di fferent places that fall within the cam era’s view.
97 VI -9. Snap shot You can take a sna pshot of a selected camera and sav e it to a ‘Snapshot’ sub - folder in a pre-defi ned data directory. Click the snapshot button once to ta ke a snapshot; yo u can take as many snapshots as you want until the ha rd disk is full.

Recording You can start video recordi ng a selected camera ’ s imag e by clicking the ‘Start Recording’ button: When recording starts, you ’ll see a message displayed i n the mes sage display box, such as ‘1/1 1 0:00:00, Camera 2 Sta rt Manua l’, which means camera 2 start ed recording manually on 1/1 at 10:00:00.
