4 DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE BUILT-IN ELECTRIC FANNED DOUBLE OVEN Your built-in oven comprises of a co nventional second oven and dual grill in the top compa rtment. The main fan oven is the larger of the two ovens. It can be automatically controlled by the electronic timer.

7 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the l ower front frame of the appliance and can be se en upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable). The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breake r.

9 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change your mind and want to can cel the 'Countdown', pre ss the Selector Control button until the 'Countdown' indicato r neon ( ) flashes and then the decrease control ( - ) until 0.00 shows in th e display as Fig.
10 B) TO SET THE TIMER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensure the electricity suppl y is switched ON and that the correct time of day is displayed, e.g. 10.00am as Fig. 9. ii) Place food in the oven. iii) To set the length of cooking time, press the Selector Control button until the 'Cook Time' ( ) indi cator neon is illuminated.
11 FULL WIDTH DUAL GRILL CAUTION - ACCESSIBLE PARTS MAY BECOME HOT WHEN THE GRILL IS IN USE. CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT AWAY. The grill is a dual circuit grill which means that the fu ll area of the grill can be used or for economy p urposes, the centre section only can be used when cooking smalle r quantitie s of food.
12 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLES The grill pan is supplied wit h removable handles. 1. To attach the handles, place the wirework under the cut out in the p an so that the metal plate hooks over the top of the grill pan. Ensure the handles are positiv ely located.
13 • Preheat the grill on full se tting for a few minutes to seal meat or for toasting. Adju st the heat setting and the shelf positio n as necessary during cooking.
14 SECOND OVEN The second oven is the smaller of the two ovens. It is heat ed by elements in the top and bottom of the oven. It is designed for cooking smal ler quantities of food on one shelf. It gives especially good results if used to cook fruit cakes, sweet and savour y flans or qui ch e.
15 HINTS AND TIPS • Arrange the shelves in the required position s before switching the oven ON. Shelf positio ns are counted from the bottom upwards. • There should always be at least 2.5cm (1”) between the top of the food and the element. This gives best cooking results and allo ws room for rise in yeast mixture s, Yorkshire puddings etc.
16 VENTITHERM ® FAN OPERATED COOKING The fan oven is particularl y suitable fo r cooking larger quantities of food. The advantages of fan oven coo kin g are: PREHEATING The fan oven quickly reaches its te mperature so it is not usually necessary to p reheat the oven.
17 USING THE TELESCOPIC RUNNERS (where fitted) 1. Ensure the telescopic runners are pushed ba ck into the oven cavity before fitting the shelf. 2. Holding the front edge of the shelf with both hands, place the rear shelf forms over the telescopic runners.
18 OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are intended as a guide only. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the temperatures by 10°C to suit individual preferen ce s and requirements.
19 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 m.
20 FAN CONTROLLED DEFROSTING This main oven fun ction enables you to defro st most f oods without heat faster than some conventional method s as the oven fan circulates air around the food. It is parti cularly suitable for deli cate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.
21 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning al w ay s allow the appliance to cool down before switching off at the electricity supply. CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any cleaning materials on you r appliance, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by th e manufacturer.
22 CLEANING INSI DE THE OVENS The vitreous enamel coating in the oven s can be cleaned using normal o ven cleaners or aerosol oven cleaners with care. Ensure that the manufacturers instructions are followe d and that all parts are wel l rinsed afterwards.
23 TO REMOVE THE INNER GLASS 1. Fully open the oven door. 2. Firmly grasp the rear ed ge of the inner gl ass panel with both hands. 3. Push the glass panel to ward s you until it clears the hinge location points at the rear. 4. With one hand, ca refully lift the glass panel to disengage it from the location point s under the handle.
24 REPLACING AN OVEN LIGHT BULB (MAIN OVEN) The type of bulb required is a 300°C 25 watt small Edison Screw. Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply before r eplacing the bulb. 1. Make sure the ap pliance is cool befo re replacing the bulb.
25 SOMETHING NOT WORKING Please carry out the following checks on your appliance before calling a S e rvice Engineer. It may be that the problem is a simple one which you can solve y ourself without the expense of a service call.

29 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNINGS • This appliance must be installed by a qualified electrician/competent person. Safety may be impaired if installation is not carried out in accordance w ith these instructions. • This appliance must be earthed.
30 CHOICE OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTION • There are three possible ways to connect your appliance. In each case the appliance should be operated using at least 6mm 2 twin core and earth PVC insulated.

32 HOW TO FINISH UNPACKING • Place packed appliance next to the space in which it will be installed. • Remove the appliance packing e xcept for bottom tray, which should be le ft in position until the appliance is ready to be fitted into its cabinet.
33 CONNECTING TO THE MAINS TERMINAL Warning: This appliance must be earthed. • We recommend you use a new length of 6mm 2 twin core and earthed cable to ensure you r safety. • Make connection as shown in Fig. 7 b y proceeding as follows:- • Preform wires to the appropriate shape to suit fitting into the mains terminal block.
34 FITTING INTO THE CABINET IMPORTANT: Ensure that the oven is switched off at the wall before any further work is carried out. • Using a tape measure establish the internal width of the cabinet. Refer to page 31 if greater than 565mm. • Position the appliance in front of the cabinet.
