7 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the l ower front frame of the appliance and can be se en upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable). The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breake r.

9 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change your mind and want to can cel the 'Countdown', press the Ti me Selector button until the 'Countdown' indicator neo n flashes then depress the decrease control (-) until 0 0.00 shows in the display as Fig.
10 B) TO SET THE TI MER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensure the electricity suppl y is switched ON and that the correct time is displayed, e.g. 9.00 a.m. as Fig. 9. ii) Set the oven control to the required fun ction and temperature. iii) Place food in the oven.
11 OTHER FUNCTIONS CHILD SAFETY DEVICE To avoid children switching on the ove n it is possible to lock the oven controls. THE CHILD SAFETY DEVICE The oven cannot be used from the mo ment the child safety device has b een switched on. ACTIVATING THE CHILD SAFETY DEVICE • The appliance must be on but no oven function must be selected.
12 SECOND OVEN FULL WIDTH DUAL GRILL WARNING - ACCESSIBLE PARTS MAY BECOME HOT WHEN THE GRILL IS IN USE. CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT AWAY. The grill is a dual circuit grill which means that the fu ll area of the grill can be used or for economy p urposes, the centre section only can be used when cooking smalle r quantitie s of food.
13 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLES The grill pan is supplied wit h removable handles. 1. To attach the handles, place the wirework under the cut out in the p an so that the metal plate hooks over the top of the grill pan. Ensure the handles are positiv ely located.
14 • Preheat the grill on full se tting for a few minutes to seal meat or for toasting. Adju st the heat setting and the shelf positio n as necessary during cooking.
15 SECOND OVEN CONVENTIONAL COOKING The second oven is the smaller of the two ovens. It is heat ed by elements in the top and bottom of the oven. It is designed for cooking smal ler quantities of food. It gives especi ally good result s if used to cook fruit cakes, sweet and savoury flans or quiche.
16 TO FIT THE SECOND OVEN SHELF The shelf should be fitted with the straight rods uppermost on the fram e and the forms to wards the back of the oven. To remove a shelf slid e the shelf towards you until the shelf stop is reached. Tilt shelf up at the front so that the stops clear the sid e supports.

19 SECOND OVEN KEEP WARM This setting allows you to warm plates or ke ep warm pre-cooked dishes prior to servin g. USING KEEP WARM • The oven must be switched on before setting any cooking function or progra mme. • Press the Oven Cavity selector until the second oven cavity is illuminated.

21 HINTS AND TIPS • Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. • Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thickne sses of food.
22 VENTITHERM ® PRECISION FAN COOKING The fan oven is particularl y suitable fo r cooking larger quantities of food. The advantages of fan oven coo kin g are: PREHEATING The fan oven quickly rea ches its temperature, so it is not usually ne cessary to preheat the ove n.

It is particularly suitable for dishes which require extra ba se browning su ch as pizzas, quiches and flans. Gratins, lasagnes and hotpots which require extra top browning also co ok well in the conventional oven.
26 HINTS AND TIPS • Single level cooking gi ves best re sults. If you require more than one level of cookin g use the main fan oven. • The middle shelf allows for the best heat distribution. To increase base b rowning simply lower the shelf po sition.
27 MAIN OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are i ntended as a guide only. It may be necessary to incre ase or decrease the temperatures by 10°C to suit individual preferen ce s and requirements.
28 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 m.
29 ROTITHERM ROASTING Rotitherm Roasting offers an alternative method o f cook ing food items normally asso ciated with conventional grilling. Rotitherm Roasting helps to minimise coo king smells in the kitchen and allo ws you to grill with the oven door closed.
30 HINTS AND TIPS • Prep are foods in the sa me way as for conventional grilling. Brush lean meats and fis h lightly with a little oil or butter to keep them moist during cookin g. • Most food should be placed on the gril l pan grid in the 'high' position in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air around the food.
31 PIZZA This setting can be used for foods su ch as pizz a where base bro wn ing and crispness are requ ired. The top and lower element s operate in conjunction with the oven fan. USING PIZZA • The oven must be switched on b efore setting any cooking function or progra mme.
32 FAN CONTROLLED DEFROSTING This main oven function enables you to defrost most foods without heat faster than some conventional m ethods as the oven fan circulates air around the food. It is partic ularly suitable for delicate frozen f oods which are to be served cold e.
33 MAIN OVEN KEEP WARM This setting allows you to warm plates or ke ep warm pre-cooked dishes prior to servin g. USING KEEP WARM • The oven must be switched on b efore setting any cooking function or progra mme. • Press the Oven Cavity selector until the main oven cavity is illuminated.
34 SPEEDCOOK Speedcook is ideal for quick preheating of the oven. USING SPEEDCOOK After a cooking function has been selected and the temperature has been adju sted, the cavity will gradually heat up until the selected te mperature is reached. This will take from 10 to 15 minutes, depending on selected fun ction and temperature.
35 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning al w ay s allow the cooling fan to cool the appliance do wn before switching off at the electricity supply . CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any cleaning materials on you r appliance, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by th e manufacturer.
36 CLEANING INSI DE THE OVENS The sides and ba ck of the grill/second oven and m ain oven compartments are coat ed with a special Stayclean coating. They sh ould not be clea ned manually. The vitreous enamel main oven base and grill/seco nd oven compartment base can be cleaned using normal oven cleane rs with care.
37 CLEANING THE DOOR(S) To prevent damaging or w ea kening the door glass panels av oid the use of the following: • Household detergents and bleache s • Impregnated pads unsuitable for non- stick .
38 TO REPLACE THE INNER GLASS PANEL 1. Holding the glass panel in your rig ht hand fully open the oven door with your left. 2. Gently ease and push the glass into the location points under the handle before lo wering and sliding the glass into position und er the hinge location points at the rear.
39 SOMETHING NOT WORKING Please carry out the following checks on your appliance before calling a S e rvice Engineer. It may be that the problem is a simple one which you can solve y ourself without the expense of a service call.

44 CHOICE OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTION • There are three possible wa ys to connect your appliance. In each case the appliance should be operated using at least 6mm 2 twin core and earth PVC insulated.

46 HOW TO FINISH UNPACKING • Place packed appliance next to the space in which it will be installed. • Remove the appliance packi ng except for bottom tray which should be left in position until the appliance is ready to be fitted into its cabinet.
47 CONNECTING TO THE MAINS TERMINAL Warning: This appliance must be earthed. • We recommend you use a new length of 6mm 2 twin core and earthed cable to ensure you r safety. • Make connection as shown i n Fig. 7 by proceeding as follows:- • Preform wires to the appropriate shape to suit fitting into the mains terminal block.
48 FITTING INTO THE CABINET IMPORTANT: Ensure that the oven is switched off at the wall before any further work is carried out. • Using a tape measure establish the internal wi dth of the cabinet. Refer to page 40 if greater than 565mm. • Position the appliance in front of the cabinet.
