6 GRILL AND OVEN FURNITURE The following items of grill and ove n furniture have been supplied with the applian ce. If you require replacements of any of the items listed below plea se contact your local Servic e Force Centre, quoting the relevant part number.
7 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the l ower front frame of the appliance and can be se en upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable). The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breake r.

9 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change yo ur mind and want to cancel the 'Countdown', press the Time Selector button ( ) until the 'Cou ntdown' indicator neon ( ) flashes th en depress the decrease contro l ( ) until 0 0.00 shows in the display as Fig.
10 B) TO SET THE TIMER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensure the el ectricity supply is switched ON and that the correct time is displayed, e.g. 9.00 a.m. as Fig. 10. ii) Set the oven control to the required fun ction and temperature. iii) Place food in the oven.
11 OTHER FUNCTIONS CHILD SAFETY DEVICE To avoid children switching on the ove n it is possible to lock the hob and oven control s. ACTIVATING THE CHILD SAFETY DEVICE • The hob and oven must be on but no hob or oven function must be selected. • Press the child safety selector , an audible signal will sound.
12 THE HOB Do not use the applia nce if the ceramic glass is damaged. If a fault or crack becomes visible, disconnect the appliance immediately from the electricity supply and contact your local Service Force Centre. USING THE HOB • The hob must be switche d on ( ) befo re setting any cooking function or pro gramme.

14 SAFETY CUT-OUT If after switching on the cookin g surface, a heat setting is not set for a cooking zone within approximately 10 se conds, the cooking su rface automatically switches itself off. If one or more sensor fields are covered for longer than approximately 10 second s, e.
15 SECOND OVEN GRILL CAUTION: Accessible parts may be hot when the grill is in use. Young children should be kept away. The grill on this appliance has been designed to he at up more quickly than con ventional grill elements. It provides quick, di rect heat and no preh eating is necessary.
16 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLE The grill pan is supplied wit h a removable handl e. To attach the handle, press the button on the handle with the thumb and inse rt the lip into the wide st part of the bracket. Slide the handle toward s the left and release the button.
17 SECOND OVEN CONVENTIONAL COOKING The second ove n is the smaller of the two ovens. It is heated by elements in the top and bottom of the oven . It is designed for cooking smaller quantit ies of food. It gives especially goo d results if used to cook fru it cakes, sweet and savour y flans or qui ch e.
18 HINTS AND TIPS • Arrange the shelves in the require d positions before switching the oven ON. Shelf positio ns are counted from the bottom upwards. • There should always be at least 2.5cm (1”) between the top of the food and the element. This gives best cooking results and allo ws room for rise in yeast mixture s, Yorkshire puddings etc.

20 HOT AIR COOKING The fan oven is particul arly suitable for cooking larger quantities of food. The adv antages of fan cooking are: PREHEATING The fan oven quickly reaches its tem perature, so it is not usually necessary to preheat the oven.
21 TO FIT THE MAIN OVEN SHELVES The shelves sho uld be fitted with the straig ht rods uppermost on the fram e and the form s towards the back of the oven. To remove a shelf slide the shelf towards you until the shelf stop is rea ched. Tilt shelf up at the front to that the stops clear th e side supports.
22 MAIN OVEN CONVENTIONAL COOKING This form of cooking gives you the opportunity t o cook without the fan in operation. It is particularly suitable for dishes which require extra base browning su ch as pizzas, quiches and flans. Gratins, lasagnes and hotp ots which requi re extra top browning also cook well in the co nventional oven.
23 HINTS AND TIPS • Single level cookin g gives best results. I f you require more than one le vel of cooking use the main fan oven. • The middle shelf allows for the best heat distribution. To increase base browning simp ly lower the shelf po sition.
24 MAIN OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are intended as a guid e only. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the temperatures by 10°C to suit individual preferen ce s and requirements.
25 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 m.
26 PIZZA This setting can be used for foods such as pizza where base browning and cri spness are requi red. The lower element operates in conjunction with th e oven fan. USING PIZZA • The oven must be switched ( ) on before setting any cooking function or progra mme.
27 LOW TEMPERATURE COOKING With the Low Temperature Cooking Func tion, meat becomes tender and remains p articularly succulent. We recomme nd Low Temperature Cooking for lean, tender pieces of meat and fish. The oven heats up t o the selected pre-set temperature.
28 FAN ROASTING Fan Roasting in the main oven offers an altern ative method of cooking food it ems no rmally associated with conventional grilling. Fan Roasting helps to mini mise cooking smells in the kitchen and allows you to grill with the oven door closed.
29 HINTS AND TIPS • Prep are foods in the same way as for conventional grilling. Brus h lean meats and fish lightly with a little oil or butter to keep th em moist during cookin g. • Most food should be placed on the gril l pan grid in the 'high' position in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air around the food.

32 MAIN OVEN BOTTOM HEAT AND TOP HEAT BROWNING BOTTOM HEAT This function can be used to finish of f dishes that may require extra base heat or where base browning and crispiness are required for pizza s o r pies.
33 MAIN OVEN KEEP WARM This setting allows you to warm plates or keep warm pre-cooked dishes prior to serving. USING KEEP WARM • The oven must be switched on ( ) before setting any cooking function or progra mme. • Press the Oven Cavity selector until the main oven cavity indicator is illuminated.
34 DEFROST This main oven function e nables you to defrost m ost foods without heat faster than some con ventional methods as the oven fan circulate s air around the food. It is particularly suitable for d elicate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.
35 FAST HEAT Fast Heat is ideal for quick preheating of the oven. USING FAST HEAT After a cooking function has been sel ected and the temperature has been adjus ted, the cavity will gradually heat up until the selected te mperature is reached. This will take from 10 to 15 mi nutes, depending on selected fun ction and temperature.
36 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning always allow the appliance to cool down before switching off at th e electricity supply. CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any clea ning materials on your appliance, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by th e manufacturer.
37 CLEANING THE CERAMIC HOB Make sure the cerami c glass is cool bef ore cleaning. It is important to clean the ceramic hob daily to prevent soilage being burnt on. Take care to avoid the hob trims wh en cleaning the ceramic glass as the y may be damaged by the cleaning agents recom mended.
38 HINTS AND TIPS TO REDUCE HOB SOILAGE: • Make sure the bottom of the saucepan and the cooking area are cle an and dry before cookin g begins. • Ensure saucepans are large enough t o accommodate food to avoid boil overs. • If possible, wipe up spills and splatters as they occur, but take care to avoid steam burns.
39 CLEANING INSIDE THE GRILL AND OVEN COMPARTMENTS The sides and back of the grill/second o ven and main oven compartments a re coated wit h a special Stayclean coating. The y should not be cleaned manually. The vitreo us enamel main oven bas e and grill compartment base can be cleaned using normal oven cleaners with care.
40 CLEANING THE DOOR(S) To prevent damaging or weakening the door glass panels av oid the use of the following: • Household detergents and bleaches • Impregnated pads unsuitable for non- stick sau.
41 REPLACING AN INTERIOR-LIGHTING BULB The type of bulb required is a 300°C 40 watt small Edison Screw. Disconnect the appliance fr om the electricity supply before r eplacing the bulb. 1. Make sure the appliance is cool before repla cing the bulb. 2.
