7 BEFORE SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS SURFACE COOKING SETTINGS Use the chart to determine the correct setting for the type of food y ou are preparing. Note: The size and type of cookware used will in fl uence the setting needed for best cooking results.
8 Í NOTE Due to the high intensity of heat gener ated by the surface elements, the glass surface will turn light green when the element is turned off . This phenomenon is normal and the glass will come back to its original white color after it has completely cooled down.
9 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Í NOTE See Recommended Set ting for Surface Element table on page 7 . SINGLE RADIANT SURFACE ELEMENTS The cooktop has 2 SINGLE radiant surf ace elements: the left rear position and the right rear position (Figure 1). To Operate the Single Radiant Surface Elements 1.

HE (Hot Element) message will turn ON and will continue to glow until the glass cooktop has cooled down to a moderate level.
11 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS CAUTION The keep warm zone will not glow red when it is hot, but becomes hot enough to cause burns. Avoid placing hands on or near the keep warm zone until the k eep warm zone hot surface indicator light is OFF .

13 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS CONTROL PAD FEATURES READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN . For satisf actory use of your oven, become familiar with the v arious features and functions of the o ven as described below . Detailed instructions for each feature and function follow later in this Use & Care Guide.
14 Í NOTE The lowest temperature that can be display ed is 100°F . Í NOTE The lower oven is not equipped with a conv ection fan & element. All the associated convection cooking f eatures will not be av ailable in this oven.
15 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING CONTINUOUS BAKE OR 6 HOUR ENERGY SAVING The TIMER and SELF CLEAN pads control the Continuous Bake or 6 Hour Energy Saving features. The oven control has a f actory preset built-in 6 Hour Energy Saving feature that will shut off the o ven if the oven control is left on for more than 6 hours.
16 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE The surface elements cannot be activ ated when the Lockout feature is activ e (see the section: The electronic surface element control (ESEC)). SETTING LOCKOUT FEATURE The pad controls the Lockout feature. The Lock out feature automatically locks the oven doors, the control panel and the cooktop.
17 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING BAKE The BAKE pad controls normal baking. If a rapid preheating is preferred, refer to the QUICK PREHEAT feature for instructions. The ov en can be programmed to bake at any temper ature from 170°F to 550°F . Baking Tips: • Preheat your o ven before using the bake mode.

19 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE Pressing CANCEL will stop the feature at any time. Í NOTE The Bake, Broil and Conv ection elements will cycle for a better heat distribution. SETTING CONVECTION ROAST (Upper oven only) This mode is best for cooking tender cuts of beef , lamb, pork and poultry .
20 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE Baking time can be set for any amount of time between 1 minute to 6 hours. The time remaining can be shown in the timer section of the display by pressing BAKE TIME at any moment of the cooking. Once Bake Time has started baking, a beep will sound when the oven temper ature reaches the set temperature.
21 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING BROIL This mode is best for meats, fi sh and poultry up to 1” thick. Broiling is a method of cooking tender cuts of meat by direct heat under the broil element of the oven. The high heat cooks quickly and gives a rich, brown outer appearance.
22 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE The Chicken Nuggets feature is automatically progr ammed to activate the K eep Warm f eature when the cooking is fi nished. “ HLD ” will be displayed for a maximum of 3 hours. See the K eep W arm feature for more inf ormation.
23 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING KEEP WARM This mode is best for keeping ov en baked foods w arm for serving after cooking has fi nished. The KEEP WARM pad turns ON the K eep W arm feature and will maintain an oven temper ature of 170°F (77°C).
24 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS How the Electronic Surface Element Controls work when the Sabbath feature is ON. When your Oven Sabbath feature is ON, the Electronic Surface Elements are also in Sabbath mode. This means that all electronic surface element control displays show “ Sb ” .
25 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE Each oven temper ature can be individually adjusted. • The oven temper ature adjustments made with this feature • will not change the Self -Clean cycle temper ature or the Broil temperature.
26 What to Expect during Cleaning While the oven is in oper ation, the oven heats to temperatures much higher than those used in normal cooking. Sounds of metal expansion and contraction are normal. Odor is also normal as the food soil is being removed.
27 Í NOTE The surface elements and the 2nd ov en cannot be activated when the Self -Clean feature is active (see the section: The electronic surface element control (ESEC)). SELF-CLEANING Í NOTE If a 2 or 4 hour clean time is desired, press SELF CLEAN multiple times to toggle between 2, 3 or 4 hours.
28 CARE & CLEANING (Cleaning Chart) CLEANING VARIOUS PARTS OF YOUR APPLIANCE Before cleaning any part of the appliance, be sure all controls are turned of f and the appliance is COOL. 29 CARE & CLEANING CERAMIC GLASS COOKTOP CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining your Ceramic glass cooktop. Prior to using your cooktop for the fi rst time, apply the recommended CERAMA BRYTE® Cleaning Creme to the ceramic surf ace.
30 CARE & CLEANING • Do not use dirty sponges, cloths or paper towels, as they can leave soil or lint on the cooktop which can burn and cause Special Caution for Aluminum Foil and Aluminum Cooking Utensils • Aluminum foil Use of aluminum foil will damage the cooktop.
31 CAUTION The door is heavy . For saf e, temporary stor age, lay the door fl at with the inside of the door facing down. Most oven doors contain glass that can break. Read the f ollowing recommendations: 1. Do not close the oven door until all the oven r acks are fully in place.
32 BEFORE YOU CALL (Solutions to Common Problems) OVEN BAKING For best cooking results, heat the o ven before baking cookies, breads, cakes, pies or pastries, etc.
33 BEFORE YOU CALL (Solutions to Common Problems) OCCURRENCE POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION Range is not level. Poor installation. Place o ven rack in center of o ven. Place a level on the ov en rack. Adjust leveling legs at base of range until the r ack is level.
34 OCCURRENCE POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION Scratches or abrasions on cooktop surface. Coarse particles such as salt or sand between cooktop and utensils can cause scratches. Be sure cooktop surface and bottoms of utensils are clean bef ore usage. Small scratches do not affect cooking and will become less visible with time.
