9 NOTE Radiant elements hav e a limiter that allows the element to cycle ON and OFF , even at the HI setting. This helps to prevent damage to the cer amic smooth top. Cycling at the HI setting is normal and can occur if the cookware is too small for the r adiant element or if the cookware bottom is not fl at.
10 BEFORE SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Surface cooking settings Use the chart to determine the correct setting for the type of food y ou are preparing. Note: The size and type of cookw are used will infl uence the setting needed for best cooking results.
11 NOTE Due to the high intensity of heat gener ated by the surface elements, the glass surface will turn gr een when the element will be turned off . This phenomenon is normal and the glass will come back to its original white color after it has completely cooled down.

Single radiant surface elements (all models) The cooktop has 2 or 3 SINGLE radiant surf ace elements: the left rear position (Figures 1, 2 & 3), the right rear position (Figures 1 and 2), and the right front position (Figures 1 and 3).

15 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS CAUTION Do not place plastic items such as salt and pepper shakers, spoon holders or plastic wrappings on cooktop when it is in use. These items could melt or ignite. P otholders, towels or wooden spoons could catch fi re if placed too close to the surface elements.
16 Multiple Oven Racks Single Oven Rack BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Oven vent location The oven is vented as shown below . When the oven is on, warm air is released through the v ent. This venting is necessary for proper air circulation in the o ven and good baking results.
17 BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Types of oven racks Y our built-in r ange may be equipped with one or more of the oven r acks styles shown; • Flat handle oven rack (All models- Figure 1). • Offset oven rack (Model A only- Figure 2). • Flat oven half rack (Models B & C only- Figures 3 & 4).
18 BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS CAUTION REMOVE ALL OVEN RACKS and parts before starting a self-clean cycle. If the oven r acks are left in the oven during the self -clean cycle, the glide ability of the Effortless Oven R ack system will be damaged and will cause all oven r acks to loose their shiny fi nish and or turn blue.
19 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Control pad features READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN. For satisf actory use of your oven, become familiar with the v arious features and functions of the o ven as described below . Detailed instructions for each feature and function follow later in this Use & Care Guide.
20 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM CONTROL PAD SETTINGS All of the features listed below have minimum and maximum time or temperature settings that may be entered into the control. An ENTRY acceptance beep will sound each time a control pad is touched (the acceptance beep on the Oven Lockout pad is delay ed 3 seconds).
21 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING CONTINUOUS BAKE OR 6 HOUR ENERGY SAVING The TIMER and SELF CLEAN pads cont rol the Continuous Bak e or 6 Hour E ner gy Savi ng f ea tur es . The ov en c ont ro l has a factory preset built -in 6 Hour Energy Saving feature that will shut off the oven if the ov en contr ol is left on f or mor e than 6 hours.
22 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING MINUTE TIMER The TIMER ON . OFF pad controls the Minute Timer feature. The Minute Timer serves as an extra timer in the kitchen that will beep when the set time has run out. It does not start or stop cooking. The Minute Timer feature can be used during an y of the other oven contr ol functions.
23 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING QUICK OR POWERPLUS TM PREHEAT Use the preheat feature when using single rack baking to quickly heat the oven to bake temperatures. Use this feature only for standard baking. A reminder tone will sound indicating when to place the food in the ov en.

26 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS NOTE Pressing CANCEL w i l l s t o p th e fe at u r e a t a n y t i m e . SETTING CONVECTION BROIL (some models) Use this mode for thicker cuts of meat, fi sh and poultry . The Convection B roiling gently browns the exterior and seals in the juices.
27 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS NOTE Baking time can be set for any amount of time between 1 minute to 6 hours. The time remaining can be shown in the timer section of the display by pressing BAKE TIME at any moment of the cooking. NOTE If it is desired to have the oven shut off automatically after a set time; enter a BAKE TIME at this step.
28 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING KEEP WARM This mode is best for keeping ov en baked foods warm for serving after cooking has fi nished. The KEEP WARM pad turns ON the K eep Warm featur e and will maintain an oven temperature of 170°F (77°C).
29 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS SETTING MY FAVORITE (some models) Th e My Favo ri te s ett in g al l ow yo u t o s av e y ou r m os t frequently used or most complex cooking sequence. This feature will save the cooking mode, the target temper ature and the bake time (if any).

33 What to Expect during Cleaning While the oven is in oper ation, the oven heats to temperatures much higher than those used in normal cooking. Sounds of metal expansion and contraction are normal. Odor is also normal as the food soil is being removed.

37 CARE & CLEANING Ceramic glass cooktop cleaning & maintenance Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining your Ceramic glass cooktop. Prior to using your cooktop for the fi rst time, apply the recommended CERAMA BRYTE® Cleaning Creme to the ceramic surf ace.
38 CARE & CLEANING CAUTION The door is heavy . For safe, tempor ary storage, lay the door fl at with the inside of the door facing down. Removing and replacing the lift-off oven door To Remove Oven Door: 1. Open oven door completely (horizontal with fl oor - See Figure 1).

43 OCCURRENCE POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION Scratches or abrasions on cooktop surface. Coarse particles such as salt or sand between cooktop and utensils can cause scratches. Be sure cooktop surface and bot toms of utensils are clean before usage. Small scr atches do not affect cooking and will become less visible with time.
