11 Chapter 2: Getting Star ted T o use your juke box, you ne ed to: 1 Charge the battery 2 Install and set up software o n your computer Charging the bat tery Fully charg e the battery for three hours before u sing your juk ebox for the first ti me. H owever , it is not necessary to fully charg e the battery each time.
12 T o charge t he battery: 1 Connect the USB combo cable to th e computer . - OR - Connect the USB combo cable to the A C power adapter , then plug the p ower ad apter in to an AC po wer o utle t.
13 2 Plug the combo cable i nto the jukebox. Make sure that t he top of the plug (the si de with the arr ows) is facing the same way as the front of the jukebo x.
14 3 If you are chargin g your jukebox from the computer’ s USB cable, turn y o u r j u k e b o x o f f . I f y o u r j u k e b o x i s o n , i t c a n n o t c h a r g e f r o m t h e computer’s USB cable. If the jukebox is on, the power cord icon appe ars in the upper right corner of the display .
15 T urning on your jukebo x T o turn on your j ukebo x: ■ Press the power button. The jukebox turn s on, and the Main Menu opens after a few seconds. If no other buttons are pressed fo r five minutes, t he jukebox turns off . T o turn off yo ur jukebox: ■ Press and hold the pow er button for about tw o seconds.
16 Plugging in the headphones Y o u c a n p l u g h e a d p h o n e s o r s p e a k e r s i n t o y o u r j u k e b o x . T o plug in he adphones o r speakers: ■ Plug the headphone or speaker plug into the headphone jack on the top of your jukebo x.

23 Pre-lo aded music Y our jukebox contains pre-loaded music for you r enjoyment and to help you lea rn about us ing your j ukebox. Pre - loade d music i ncludes player- exclusive conten t from Renato Grinberg. Viewing the Now Pla ying screen After moving within menus, you can quic kly return t o the Now Playi ng screen from any screen.
24 Sett ing ad van ced p la ying mode s Setting the equalizer T o set th e equalizer: 1 Fro m the Main Menu , press or to highligh t Settings , then press to open the Settings menu. 2 Highlight Au d io , then press to open t he A udio Setting menu. 3 Highlight EQ , then press to open the EQ M ode menu.

26 Disabling e x pired m usic messages If you use a music service wher e music can be p layed for a l imit ed amount of time ( such as Napster T o Go), the music will event ually become disabled on your jukebox. When you try to play a disabled track on your jukebox, you get the message “T o pl ay this track, you must sync your device to your PC.
27 Viewing the musi c visual ization While music is playing, you can choose to display a visualizatio n of the sound. The vi sualizatio n is similar to visualizatio ns you may see in W indows Media Player on your comput er . T o view the mu sic visualizat ion: 1 In the Now Play ing screen, press to open the options menu.
28 Creating playlists Y ou can create playlists in Windows Media Player or you can create them on the jukebox. Both typ es of playlists are readily available to use on your jukebox. Creating a jukebo x playlist T o create a playl ist on your j ukebox: 1 Press or to highlight Mu sic , then press to open the Music menu.
29 4 Press o r to highligh t Add to Device Playlist , then press . The Add to D evice P laylis t menu opens, and <New P layl ist > is highlighte d. 5 Press . The Name P laylist menu opens, an d <Name Playlist> is highlight ed. 6 Press to highlight the default new playl i st name, then press to select it.
30 Creating a Windows Media Pla yer play list T o create a playlist in Window s Media Pla yer: 1 In W indows Media Player on your computer , click the Li brary tab, then click and d rag the files to add to your p laylist from the library list to the play list w ind ow on the ri ght.

32 Editin g playlists Adding a t rac k or alb um to a jukebo x playlis t T o add to a playlist : 1 On your jukebox , press or to highlight Music , then press to open the Music menu. 2 Highlight Playlists , Artists , Alb ums , Genres , All M usic , or Now Playing , then press to open the s ubmenu.

36 Creating files for y our jukebox Before you connect your jukebox to your computer , you should have s ome digital music and photo files ready on the c omputer .
37 3 Click the Rip t a b . T h e l i s t o f t r a c k s o n y o u r m u s i c C D a p p ea r s . I f y o u r computer is connected to the Internet, the album and trac ks are listed by name. 4 Right-clic k the title b ar , click To o l s , then click Optio ns .
38 6 Click the Format box, click MP3 or WMA , then click OK . Y ou only ha ve t o s ele ct t he for mat on ce , s o t he n ext ti me you r ip mu si c , y ou do not need to perf orm this step.
39 7 Click the c heck box next t o each track yo u want to copy , then cli c k Rip Music . The tracks are copied to your computer and are added to your Media Player Library . Buying digita l m usic f iles Y o u can buy digital music from severa l online music services.
40 Napster Wit h the Napster T o Go™ online music serv ice, you can transfer an u n l i m i t e d a m o u n t o f m u s i c t o y o u r j u k e b o x f o r a l o w m o n t h l y f r e e . F i l l your player , listen to all the music, then fill it up agai n from your choice of over a mill ion tracks.
41 4 T yp e your member name, a password, and your e-mail ad dress, then t yp e yo ur P ro mo C od e (f oun d on a c ar d in yo ur ju ke box ’ s s hi pp in g box) in the space provided. 5 Click to select the Review T erms & Conditions check box, then click Next Step .
42 7 T ype the member name and password you chose, then click Sign In . 8 Find so me music you wo uld like to download. By clicking the Search boxes in the u pper right corner, you can search by artist, t rack, or album. Y o u c an also c lick Br ow se to access Nap ster's browse features.
43 Syncing y our jukebox with y our computer Prepar ing files for syn cing Before you move yo ur files to your ju kebox, you s hould set them up in Med ia Pl ayer s o the y can be au toma tical ly sync ed with ( copie d to) y our jukebox the next time you connect it to your computer .
44 T o prepare file s for syncing with your jukebox: 1 Click Start , All Pr ograms , Accessories , Enter tainment , then click Windo ws Media Pla yer .
45 4 In the Edit Playlist dialog box, right -click the album or artist you want to add to the Sync List , then click Add t o Playlist . - OR - Click the al b um to open its list o f tracks, t hen click each track yo u want to add to the Sync Lis t. 5 Click OK when you have f inished add ing tracks to th e S ync List .
46 Moving files to your jukebo x Y our juk ebox can play any WMA, MP3, or W A V file, an d a ny playlist, that appears in the Windows Media Player music library . T o move files to your jukebox: 1 Click Start , All Pr ograms , then click Wi ndows M edia Player .
47 5 Plug the USB combo cable i nto t he juk ebox, then plu g the o ther end of the combo cable i n to a USB port on your computer ..
48 Y our computer recognizes the attached player , and “Connected,” appears on the jukebox di splay . When syncing is done, you see a message “Safe to D isconnect.” On your c ompute r , the Device Setup dialog box o pens. 6 Click Manual or Automatic , then cl ick Finish .
49 7 Click the Sync tab, then click Start Sync . The files are moved to your jukebox. 8 Unplug the USB cable fr om the computer . Y our jukebox restarts.
50 3 Click My Computer , then double-c lick MTP Device . 4 Double-click the Med ia folder, t h en double-click the Mu sic folder . 5 Click t he fi les you want t o cop y , click Edit , then clic k Copy . T o select multiple files, press and h old the S HIFT or C TRL key whil e clicking.
51 Chapter 4: Vie wing Photos Y our jukebox c an display digital photos saved i n the standard ( baseline or static ) JPG/JPE G forma t. Progressive or interlaced i mages are not viewable. Most digital cameras sav e images in the supported standard JPG/JPEG format, and most ph oto editing software saves in th e standard format by default.

53 Copying photos to y our jukebo x Copying photos from y our computer Y ou can transfer any digital i m a ge from yo ur computer to your jukebox. T o copy phot os from your computer to your jukebo x: 1 T urn on your jukebox, t hen connect it to the c omputer using th e USB combo cable.
54 Copying photos from y our jukebox to y our computer Y ou ca n transfer any phot o from your jukebox t o your co mputer . T o copy phot os from your ju kebox to your com puter: 1 T urn on your jukebox, t hen connect it to the c omputer using th e USB combo cable.
55 Copying photos from y our digital camera Y o u c a n a l s o t r a n s f e r p h o t o s d i r e c t l y f r o m y o u r c a m e r a t o y o u r j u k e b o x . This feature is convenient for emptying your camera’ s memory card when you have no access t o a computer for permane nt storage.
56 3 T urn on your jukebox, then co nnect the USB camera inter face cable to yo ur j ukebo x. Y our jukebox should automatically d etect the camera and ask to upload all files.
57 4 Press or to highli ght Ye s , then press to start copying the fi les to your jukebox. Copying may take several mi nu tes. 5 After the copying is complete, unplug your jukebox and camera f rom the USB cable. After verifying th at the files have been copied to your jukebox, you can erase them from yo ur camera.
58 Copying photos from y our card reader Y o u c a n t r a n s f e r p h o t o s f r o m a U S B m e m o r y c a r d r e a d e r b y c o n n e c t i n g the reader’ s USB cable to your jukebox’ s USB camera interface cable.

Copying may take several mi nu tes. 5 After the c opying is complete, unplug your ju kebo x and memory device from t he USB cable. After verifying th at the files have been copied to your jukebox, you can erase them from your memory device.

76 Firmware update fails If the firmware update util ity is unable to update your jukebox firmware, you need to re install your jukebox’ s original firmwar e. T o reinstall yo ur jukebox’ s original firmware: 1 T urn on your jukeb ox and conne ct it to your co mputer usi ng the USB combo cable.
77 4 Yo u c a n a l s o c l i c k : ■ Recover . Use this when files on the jukebox s eem to disappear , although you ha v e not deleted them. The Recover option attempts to fix the databas e on the jukebox so that files will no longer d isappear . ■ Format (disk maintenance).
78 JPG/JPEG photos do not displa y Y our jukebox can di splay digital photos saved i n the standard ( baseline or static ) JPG/JPE G forma t. Progressive or interlace d images are n ot viewable. 86 Bac king up your files Y o u should back up your ju kebox photo and music files fr equently to avoid losing th em. Al though you c annot copy pro tected content (such as DRM music fi les which have a li cense prohibiting copying), you can back up most music and all of your digital phot os.
