G ENERAL INFORMA TION The NX-7002 is the GPRS module that can be added to the NetworX range of panels ( NX-8- EUR, NX-6-EUR and NX-4-EUR). The NX -7002 GPRS module features include: • Wireless event reporting. • Six programmable report de stinations.
F E A TURE DEFINITIONS CID Contact ID reporting pr otocol. CSD Circuit Switched Data. This i s the communication used to upload/download data. It is simil ar to a modem but it is wireless and built in to the NX-7002 (see locati ons 0, 162 segment 10 and location 168).
SIM card PUK code See PUK code SMS Short Message Service. SMS is a service for sending short text messages to mobile phone s (see locations 1, 145, 163, 164, 167). Transparent mode Data is transferred directly from one modem to anot her modem (see l ocation 0 segment 1).
P ROG R AM MI N G H E NX-7002 GPRS MODULE Programming the NX-7002 via the LED keypad ENTERING THE PROGRAM MODE To enter the progra m mode, press [*]- [8]. At this ti me, the five function LED’s (Stay, Chime, Exit, Bypass and Cancel) will begi n to flash.
EXITING THE PROGRAM MODE When all the desired changes in p rogramming have be en made, it is time t o exit the program mode. Pressing the [Exit] ke y will exit this programming level and then retur n to the “Select a Module to Program” level.
Once the data is progra mmed, press the [*] key to enter the data and advance t o the next segment of that location. A fter the last seg ment of a location is pr ogrammed, pressing th e [*] key will exit that location, tur n the “Ready” LE D off and the “Armed” LED on.
S TA R T U P , ENROLLING AND TESTING THE NX-7002 Inser ting the SIM card Note: You must be free of a ll static electricity when handling electronic components. • Always power down the s ystem before inserting a SIM Card. • Locate the SIM card holder n on the bo ard.
Enrolling the SIM car d on the GSM network • Insert the SIM card. See Inserting the SIM card for more information. • Power up the NX-7002 GPRS module. • Enter programming mode. S ee Programming he NX-7002 GPRS module for more information. • Press 78# to select the module.
T esting the RSSI value During the enrolling proced ure, it is mandatory to check the RSSI v alue (signal strength) of the NX-7002 GPRS module and record it in the system documentation. The RSSI value is linked to the signal level of the GSM n etwork and ranges from 0-3 1 with 99 as unknown.
P ROGRAMMING THE LOCA TIONS LOCATION 0 MODULE MODE OF OP ERATION FEATURE SE LECTION (8 segments) This location contains t he system characteristics. Segment 1 1 = Enable site initiated downl oading (*98 from a keypad) 2 = Enable remote initiated dow nloading This setting enables the PC to dial into the NX-7002.
LOCATION 1 DESTINATION SELECTION FOR REPORT CONTROL 1 (1 s egment) The NX-7002 contains up to six report controls. Each report co ntrol can be defined for SMS reporting, TCP/IP reporti ng or email reporting (not yet av ailable). This location contains the report destination for re port control 1.
LOCATION 4 EVENT SELECTION FOR REPORT CONTROL 1 BY PARTITION (16 segments, feature selection data) All events for report control 1 are enabled by defaul t.

LOCATION 144 TCP/IP 2 LINE NUMBER (4 segments) See location 141. LOCATION 145 SMS 1 ACCOUNT NUMBER (8 segments) The SIA account number used for SMS reporting. S IA account numbers are 6 digi ts long. Enter the first digit of the S IM PIN code in segment 3 (segmen t 1 and 2 are not used).
LOCATION 162 TIMERS AND COUNTERS (16 segments, numerical data) Location 162 contains the duration of various system timi ng functions. Segment 1 Max Number of netw ork attempts The number of report attempts the NX-7002 GPRS module makes to send a report.
LOCATION 164 SMS 1 FORMAT (1 segment) The communicator format used to transmit to the SMS 1 report destination from the NX-7002 GPRS module. Consult the instructions for your central station receiver to de termine which format is compatible.
LOCATION 165 SMS 2 PHONE NUMBER (20 segments) See location 163. LOCATION 166 SMS 2 FORMAT (1 segment) See location 164. Note: By default, not more than 20 SMS mess ages will be trans mitted in a 24 hour time period. If needed, this number can be changed (see location 162 segment 3).
LOCATION 174 DEVICE STATUS FLAGS (2 segments) This location contains sp ecific status informati on of the GSM/GPRS module. If the opt ion is ”On”, the status condition is true.
NX-7002 FOR PRIMARY OR BACKUP REPORTING NX-7002 for primary reporting The NX-7002 can be configured to be the primary transmitter. In this case, the NX-7002 acts as the main alarm reporting device.
The NX-7002 can be configured as the backup de vice of an auxiliary dialler (NX-590 TCP/IP module or NX-570 ISDN module): • Select the desired report con trol in location 1. • Enable the Autotest report options. • Ensure that the reportin g format used with the auxiliary dialler is the same as t he reporting format used in the NX-7002.

Een belangrijk punt na aankoop van elk apparaat GE NX-7002 (of zelfs voordat je het koopt) is om de handleiding te lezen. Dit moeten wij doen vanwege een paar simpele redenen:
Als u nog geen GE NX-7002 heb gekocht dan nu is een goed moment om kennis te maken met de basisgegevens van het product. Eerst kijk dan naar de eerste pagina\'s van de handleiding, die je hierboven vindt. Je moet daar de belangrijkste technische gegevens GE NX-7002 vinden. Op dit manier kan je controleren of het apparaat aan jouw behoeften voldoet. Op de volgende pagina's van de handleiding GE NX-7002 leer je over alle kenmerken van het product en krijg je informatie over de werking. De informatie die je over GE NX-7002 krijgt, zal je zeker helpen om een besluit over de aankoop te nemen.
In een situatie waarin je al een beziter van GE NX-7002 bent, maar toch heb je de instructies niet gelezen, moet je het doen voor de hierboven beschreven redenen. Je zult dan weten of je goed de alle beschikbare functies heb gebruikt, en of je fouten heb gemaakt die het leven van de GE NX-7002 kunnen verkorten.
Maar de belangrijkste taak van de handleiding is om de gebruiker bij het oplossen van problemen te helpen met GE NX-7002 . Bijna altijd, zal je daar het vinden Troubleshooting met de meest voorkomende storingen en defecten #MANUAl# samen met de instructies over hun opplosinge. Zelfs als je zelf niet kan om het probleem op te lossen, zal de instructie je de weg wijzen naar verdere andere procedure, bijv. door contact met de klantenservice of het dichtstbijzijnde servicecentrum.
