1 Introduction This is the GE Pr oBridge Ethernet User Manual for model PBe. This document includes detaile d instructions explain ing: • how to setup an d instal l the PBe ProBridge and • how to connect to single or multiple A TM sites. There is also information describing how to contact technical support if you have questio ns.

3 Over view The PBe is a specific ProBridg e unit for interfacing the DVR family of digital video multiplex/ recorders to financial institution automated teller machines (A TMs) .
ProBridge Ethernet User Manual 4 Product contents The PBe system con sists of the ProBridge unit, this manual, an Ethernet cable, a PBe to DVR cable, a PBe to PC cable, and a power supply , as shown in Figur e 1 . Figure 1. Product contents Inspect the package and contents for visible damage.
5 Installation environment Power . Ensure that the installation site’ s AC power is stable and within the rated voltage of the external po wer supply . If the site’ s AC power is likely to have spikes or DIPs, use power line conditioning or an uninterruptible power supply .

9 Installation overview The basic steps re quired to install the PB e are: 1. Physically connect the PB e interface to the network switch or hub and the DVR using the supplied cables. 2. Program monitor mode to on by setting SW1 switches 1 to 4. See SW1 switches 1 to 4 on page 20 for th e switch settings.

Connect the PBe to the DVR using the supplied 4310- 0034 cable. Plug on e end into port 1 o f the PBe and th e other end into the RS-232/2 port of th e DVR.
ProBridge Ethernet User Manual 12 Programming After you install the PBe, you ne ed to program the ProBridge for operation. This is accomplished by us ing HyperT erminal or manually setting the DIP switches.

15 Main Menu There are five menu selections on the Main Me nu : • Exit - Exits the maim menu and saves any changes. • PBe Set-up - provides IP address setup and Ethernet device selection. • T erminal IP/Camera Set-up - Enables or disables the IP camera and provides addressing options.
ProBridge Ethernet User Manual 16 the list will be selected. The PBe supports the following Ethernet devices: • Generic interface • Native A TM messages (FC) • V erifone POS • Ethernet data analyzer Note: The Ethernet device can also be select ed by DIP switch.

Note: Monitor mode should be turned off before upgrading t he PBe. In some cases whenever SW3 is used to select the Ethernet Device , monitor mode will automatically be turned on.
19 3. Set the DIP switches per the tables in DIP swit ch settings on page 20 to match the ch anges desired. 4. Reconnect the PBe to the DVR. 5. Reapply power to th e PBe.
ProBridge Ethernet User Manual 20 DIP switch settings This chapter deals in detail with the DIP switch settings. The PBe must be re initialized before any changes to the switch settings will be recognized. SW1 switches 1 to 4 Switches 1 to 4 on SW1 are for turning monitor mode on or off .

ProBridge Ethernet User Manual 22 SW3 switches 1 to 8 The switch positi ons on SW3 are fo r selecting the Ethernet device type. These switches are reserved for technical support. Do not use. SW4 switches 7 and 8 Switches 7 and 8 on switch 4 control the communication protocol between the PBe at port 1 and th e DVR or PC.
23 Accessing the Webser ver The PBe has a built-in webpage fo r simple config uration changes and remote upgrade. T o access the webpage do the following: 1. Obtain the IP addresses for the PBe. The default addre ss are: • IP Address: 3.1 12.55.79 • Subnet mask: 255.

Een belangrijk punt na aankoop van elk apparaat GE PBe (of zelfs voordat je het koopt) is om de handleiding te lezen. Dit moeten wij doen vanwege een paar simpele redenen:
Als u nog geen GE PBe heb gekocht dan nu is een goed moment om kennis te maken met de basisgegevens van het product. Eerst kijk dan naar de eerste pagina\'s van de handleiding, die je hierboven vindt. Je moet daar de belangrijkste technische gegevens GE PBe vinden. Op dit manier kan je controleren of het apparaat aan jouw behoeften voldoet. Op de volgende pagina's van de handleiding GE PBe leer je over alle kenmerken van het product en krijg je informatie over de werking. De informatie die je over GE PBe krijgt, zal je zeker helpen om een besluit over de aankoop te nemen.
In een situatie waarin je al een beziter van GE PBe bent, maar toch heb je de instructies niet gelezen, moet je het doen voor de hierboven beschreven redenen. Je zult dan weten of je goed de alle beschikbare functies heb gebruikt, en of je fouten heb gemaakt die het leven van de GE PBe kunnen verkorten.
Maar de belangrijkste taak van de handleiding is om de gebruiker bij het oplossen van problemen te helpen met GE PBe . Bijna altijd, zal je daar het vinden Troubleshooting met de meest voorkomende storingen en defecten #MANUAl# samen met de instructies over hun opplosinge. Zelfs als je zelf niet kan om het probleem op te lossen, zal de instructie je de weg wijzen naar verdere andere procedure, bijv. door contact met de klantenservice of het dichtstbijzijnde servicecentrum.
