Any communications dev ice can be used w ith the Omni II, provided that it is powered by 12 VDC , has 12 VDC triggered in puts, and has 2 (or m ore) ch annels.

Heat Pumps Programmable En ergy Saver Modules are compatible with heat pumps, however, the s avings gained by s etting the heat pump back may be erased by the auxiliary heaters when the heat pump tries to reco ver from the setback. Page 29 DIGIT AL COMMUNICA TOR The Omni II digit al communicator can use C ontact ID, or Stan dard 4/2 or 3/1, (20 pps , 1800 H z data, 230 0 Hz handshake), or (10 pps, 1900 Hz data, 1400 Hz han dshake), dual round compared f ormat. Any cen tral s tation with m odern eq uipment can receiv e these formats.
Page 30 3/1 FORMAT Older central stations may requi re a 3/1 format . To use 3/1 form at, both account num bers must be ch anged to 3 dig it codes and EVERY alarm code must be chang ed to a 1-digit code. Do n ot mix code len g ths! OPENING AND CLOSING REPORTS The Omni II sys tem can send opening a nd closing reports by user to the central station.

The Installer Setup mode is use d to configure the g eneral operation of the syst em, the Outputs, the Areas, the Zone Types, th e Digital Communicator, and various other settings.

Page 34 Z 1 TYPE TH ROUGH Z 48 TYPE This item specifies the zone type for each zon e. All choices are listed in this manual under DESCRIPT ION OF ZONE TYPES.
Page 35 LATCHING ZONE TYPES When any dev ice (other then FIRE or GA S) i s connected to SWITCH 12V or a Sw itc hed Power Output, the zone must be configured as one of the LATCHING ZONE TYPES (latching perimeter, latching night interior, latching away interior, and latching tamper).
Page 36 TAMPER ZONES should be used f or items such as gun cabinets and liqu or closets. LATCHING TAMPER ZONES ignore the status of th at zone during power cycles. POLIC E EMERG ENCY This zone type activ ates the burglar alarm and soun der. An emergency dial out is activated after the DIAL OUT DELAY.
Page 37 FIRE TAM PER This zone type is used to monitor the w iri ng to bells and s ire ns (other than those connected to the Horn Ou tput). The zone wil l report trouble if an open, short, or other wiring problem is detected in the supervised bell circuit.

W henev er the system is disarm ed t he communicator will send an ope ning report to the central station. W hen the system is armed, the communicator will send a closin g report to the central station.
