O VEN TIMER OPERA TION A UTOMA TIC COOKING The T op O ven and Main Oven can be controlled by the automatic timer . When the timer control has been set for one o ven, it is possible to use the other ov en only during the same automatic cooking programme.

T op Oven Shelf Positioning f or Grilling The shelf can be inserted in two different wa ys for grilling. T he grilling char t will indicate the correct orientation. Note There should alwa ys be at least 25mm (1 inch) between the top o f the food and the grill element.
The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan, to facilitate cleaning and st orage. The grill pan handle can be fixed as f ollows: Step 1 Remove scr ew & washers from the grill pan bracket (a). Step 2 Tilt the handle over the r ecess (b). Step 3 Slide it towar ds the centre of the pan (c).
Step 1 Ensure oven timer is set t o manual. Place the shelf in the correct position (see Grilling Guide). Place the food/grill pan on the shelf , positioned centrally und er the grill element. The top ov en should be used to cook small quantities of food . T he oven is designed so that the grill element operates at a reduc ed heat output, this is combined with a heating element situated underneath the floor of the ov en.
Step 1 Check that the timer is in manual. Step 2 Place the shelf in the correct position (see Oven T emperature C harts). Step 3 Select the required cooking temperature (100–220 o C) using control (B) (see T op Oven T emperature Charts).

F AN ONL Y SET TING DEFROSTING FROZEN MEA T & POUL TRY Joints of meat and whole birds should be defrosted slo wly , preferably in a refrigerator (allowing 5-6 hours per lb .) or at room temperature (allowing 2-3 hours per lb .). Fr ozen meat or poultry must be completely defrosted bef ore cooking in the oven.
“SL OW” SET TING This is used for slow c ooking, keeping food warm and warming plates for short periods. Extra care should be taken when warming bone china, as it may be damaged in a hot oven. ADV ANT AGES OF SL OW COOKING ARE: The oven sta ys cleaner because there is less splashing .
