6 Drives Handling driv es Drive s are fragi le comp uter compon ents that must be handled with car e. Refer to the fol lowing caution s before handling drives.

Sharing optical drives Althoug h your computer may not have an integrated optical drive, yo u can ac cess s oftware a nd data, and ins tall app lications , by sh aring an optical drive con nected to another c omputer in your network.

Using pass words A pass word is a group of char acters that you cho ose to s ecure your comput er infor mation. S evera l types of passwo rds ca n be set, depending on ho w you wan t to contr ol access to your inform ation. Passw ords ca n be set in Wind ows or i n non-Wind ows Compu ter Setup that is preinst alled on the comput er.
Setting passwords in Computer Setup Password Function BIOS administrator passwor d* Protects access to Computer Se tup. DriveLock master pass word* Protects access to the internal hard drive that is protected by DriveLock. It is also used to remove DriveLock protecti on.
