1. S tart the scanning software, and t hen select the TW AIN data source. 2. On the TW AIN user interface, press t he Color Dropout tab, choose the color channel you wish to remove from the Color drop-down list. 4. Dry the glass with a dry , soft, lint-free cloth. 5. With a light touch, dust the two small strip s of gray reflective materi al with a dry , soft, lint-free cloth. 6. Close the scanner hatch, and then reconn ect the USB cable and power supply to the scanner .

If the scanner lamp remains on after a long period of inactivity , turn of f the scanner , wait 30 seconds, and then turn the scanner back on.
NOTE: For the best OCR results, scanner compression should be set to a low compression level or disa bled. Resolution should be set to 300 ppi (dpi) for English and Europea n languages and 4 00 ppi (dpi) for Chinese or K orean character recognition.
