1 Chapter 1 General Description The HS-7238 is an Inte l ® 82845GV/82801D B chipset-based board designed fo r PCI-ISA Bus PGA 478 In tel ® Pentium ® 4 up to 2.8 GHz CPU compatibility. The combination of t hese features makes the HS-7238 an ideal all-in-one in dustria l single board c omputer.
2 System memory is also sufficient with the one DDR socket that can support up to 512MB. Additional onboar d connec tors include an advanced U SB2.0 port providing faster data transmission, an d two external RJ -45 connec tors for use of two 1 0/100 Base-TX Eth ernet interfac es.

5 Chapter 2 Unpacking 2.1 Opening the Delivery Package The HS-72 38 is packe d in an anti-sta tic bag. The boar d has components that are easily damaged b y static elec tricity. Do not remove the anti-static w rapping until prop er precau tions have been taken.

25 Chapter 4 Award BIOS Setup The HS-7238 use s Award BIOS for the system configuration. The Award BIOS setup program is designed to pr ovide the maximum flexibility in configuring the system by offering various options that could be select ed for end-user req uirements.
26 4.2 Using Setup In general, yo u use the arrow key s to highlight items, press <Enter> to select, use the <PageUp> and <PageD own> keys to cha nge entries , press < F1> for help and pre ss <Esc> to quit. The following table provides more detail about how to navigate the Setup p rogram us ing the keyboard.
27 4.3 Main Menu Once you enter the Award BIOS CM OS Setup Utility, the Main Menu will appear on the screen . The Main Menu allows you to selec t from several setu p functions and two exit choices. U se the arro w keys to select among the items and press <En ter> to enter the s ub-menu.
28 4.4 Standard CMOS Features The Standard Setup is used for the basic hard ware system configuration . The main function is for Data/Time a nd Floppy/Hard Disk Drive settings. Please refer to the following screen for the setu p. When the IDE hard disk drive you are u sing is larg er than 528MB, you must set the HDD mode to LBA mode.
29 4.5 Advanced BIOS Features This sect ion allows you to configure your system for th e basic operation. You ha ve the opportunity to se lect the system’s default speed, bo ot-up seque nce, keyboard operation, shadowing an d securit y.
30 4.6 Advanced Chipset Features This section allows you to configure the sy stem based on the specific features of the installed chipset. This chipset manages bus speeds and the acce ss to th e system memory resources, such as DRAM and the external cach e.
31 4.7 Integrated Peripherals The IDE hard drive controllers can suppor t up to two separate hard drives. These drives have a mas ter/slave re lationship that is determined by th e cabling configuration us ed to atta ch them to the control ler.

The utility disk that come with the delivery pack age contai ns an auto-r un program tha t invokes the installation pro grams for the IDE, VGA, LAN and Audio d rivers.
