8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Cutting attachment guar d This guard is intended to pre vent loose objects from being thrown to wards the operator . The guard also protects the operator from accidental contact with the cutting attachment. Check that the guard is undamaged and not cr acked.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS If the muffler on y our machine is fitted with a spar k arrestor screen this must be cleaned regularly . A block ed screen will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage. Loc king nut A locking n ut is used to secure some types of cutting attachment.

English – 11 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the J-handle • Clip the loop handle onto the shaft. Note that the loop handle must be fitted between the arro ws on the shaft. • Slide the spacer into the slot in the loop handle. • Fit the nut, knob and scre w .
12 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting a blade guar d, grass blade and grass cutter • Hook the blade guard/combination guard (A) onto the fitting on the shaft and secure with the bolt. CA UTION! Ensure that the guard e xtension is removed. Use the recommended blade guard.

Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.

16 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Repeat pulling the cord until the engine star ts. When the engine star ts. retur n chok e control to r un position and apply full throttle; the throttle will automatically disengage from the star t setting.

Long per iods at full throttle without any load on the engine can lead to serious engine damage. Grass c learing using a grass blade • Grass b lades and grass cutters must not be used on woody stems.
English – 19 W ORKING TECHNIQUES Cutting • The trimmer is ideal for cutting gr ass that is difficult to reach using a normal lawn mower . K eep the cord parallel to the ground when cutting. Av oid pressing the trimmer head against the ground as this can ruin the lawn and damage the tool.

English – 21 MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. Then turn the screw anticlockwise until the cutting attachment stops.
22 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Cooling fins on the cylinder . 3 Cylinder cov er (directs cold air ov er the cylinder).
English – 23 MAINTENANCE Spark plug The spark plug condition is influenced by: • Incorrect carburetor adjustment. • An incorrect fuel mixture (too much or incorrect type of oil). • A dir ty air filter . These f actors cause deposits on the spar k plug electrodes , which ma y result in operating problems and starting difficulties.
