5 Intr oduc tion Y our new digital pr ojector pr ovides c omputer an d video in puts an d has XGA 1024x768 re solution. The pro jector is easy to connect, easy to u se, and easy to main tain. An In teractive Display on the top of the pr ojector gives you constant feedb ack on the st atus of the pr ojector .

7 Connecting a computer Required compute r connection s Connect the black end of the computer cable to the Com puter 1 connector on the pr ojector . Connect the blue end to the video port on your computer . If you are using a desktop computer , y ou first need to disconnect the mon itor cable fr om the computer ’s video port.
8 If you are u sing a desk top computer and want to see t he image on your computer screen as well a s on the pr ojection scr een, plug the monitor cable to the bl ack Computer 2 conne ctor on the projector . This connector can b e used as monitor out or VESA in.
9 Displa ying a computer image Remove the lens cap. Pr ess the Po w e r bu tton on th e top of the project or or the remote . The LED fla shes gr een and the fans s tart to r un. Whe n the lamp comes on, the sta rtup scr een is displayed an d the LED is steady green.
10 First-time pr ojector use with Windo ws 98 If you are running W indows 2000 , W indows ME, or W indow XP , skip these steps an d go to “Adju sting th e image” on page 1 2.

12 Adjusting the imag e Adjust the heigh t of the pr ojector , if necessary , by pres sing the r elease but- ton to extend the elevator foot. Rotate th e level ing foot (loca ted at t he botto m back ri ght cor ner), i f neces - sary . Position the projector the d esired distance fr om the screen at a 9 0 degree angle to the screen.

26 Using the remote contr ol The remote uses tw o (2) provided AA bat teries. They are ea sily installed by sliding t he cover of f the r emote’s back, a ligning t he + an d - ends of the ba t- teries, s liding them int o place, and t hen r eplacing the cove r .
27 Using the LiteP ort pla y er LitePor t allows you to display any JPEG ima ge automa tically , without a computer connected. Us e your own JPE Gs from your digital camera, or con - vert y our files, such as P owerPoin t or W ord files , into JPEGs usin g LitePor t Utility (i ncluded on the CD).

29 Optimizing computer images After your comput er is connected pr operly and the computer ’s image is on the scre en, you can opt imize the im age using the onscreen menus. For gen - eral info rmation on using the menu s, see page 30. • Adjus t the Ke ys tone, C ontra st, or Br ight nes s in the Pictu re menu.
30 Using the menus T o open the menus, press th e Me nu button on the key pad or remote. (The menus a utomatically close aft er 60 seco nds if no b uttons a re pr essed. ) The Main menu appears. Use the arrow buttons to move up and down to high - light t he desir ed sub menu, then pr ess the Select but ton.

33 Advanced settings Sharpness : (video sources only) cha nges the clarity of the edges of a v ideo image. Select a s harpne ss settin g. Color S pace : This option applies to computer sources. It allows you to select a color spa ce that has been specifical ly tuned for the video input.

40 Replacing the projection lamp The lamp hour timer in the About menu counts the number of hours the lamp has been in use. Fifty h ours before the specified end of the lamp’ s life, the message “ Replace lamp” bri efly appears on the scr een at ea ch startup and in the Int eractive Di splay .
41 • Be extr emely careful whe n removin g the lamp housing. In the unlikely event that the lamp rupt ures, small glass fr agments may b e generated. The lamp module is d esigned to contain most of thes e fragmen ts, but use caution when removing it.
42 Cleaning the lamp filter screens In dirty or dusty envi ronment s, the dust fil ter scr eens on th e lamp module and lamp door an d in t he lamp com partme nt can become clogged, ca using high tempe ratures i nside the l amp module. These high temperatur es can impact l amp performa nce and oper ating life.
