4 Intr oduction Y our new digital project or is simple to conn ect, ea sy to use, and s traightf orward t o maint ain. It is a vers atile proj ector that is fle xi ble enough t o fit almost an y installa tion scenario.
5 Connector P anel The pr ojector pr ovides both comput er and video connection options, including: •H D M I •D V I - D • 3G-SDI • BNC RGBHV and YPbPr f or RGBHV , EDTV and HDTV • RGB (V GA).
6 P ositioning the Projector T o det e rmine where to position the project or , consider the siz e and shape of your screen, the loc ation of your power outlets, and the distance betwe e n the pr ojector and the r est of your equipment.
7 Ceiling Mount If you wish to install the pr ojector on the ceiling: • The projector must be installed by a qualified profes sional in order to ensu re proper oper ation and reduce the risk of haz ards or injury . It is not reco mmended you install th e projector y ourse lf .
8 Connecting po w er Connect the black power cor d to the Po w e r connector on the side of the projector and to y our electrical outlet. T urn on the pow er switch. The P ower LED on the t op of the project or ( page 12 ) turns red. NO TES : Note: Connect ion to a circuit with a minimum of 20A capacity is recommended.
9 Displa ying an image T ouch the Po w e r button on the k eypad or the remote. The P ower button blink s green and the f ans start t o run. When the lamp turns on, the start up screen will display and the P ower but ton will become solid green. It can tak e a minute f or the image to achie ve full brigh tness.
10 Adjusting the imag e Position the pr ojector to the desire d distan ce from the screen at a 90 de gree angle to the scr een. See the Appendix f or screen siz es and distance s associat ed with the various lens options.
11 Connecting a video de vice Y ou can conne ct video device s such as VCRs, D VD player s, camcorder s, digital camer as, video game c onsoles, HDTV r eceivers, and TV tuner s to the project or . Note: This pr ojector does n ot support audio. Y ou must connect audio dir ectly from your sour ce to a st ereo or home theater s yst em.
12 Shutting do wn the pr ojector Auto P o wer Off The pr ojector ha s an Auto P ower Off f eature tha t automatically turns the pr ojector off if no activ e sources ar e detecte d and no user inter action with the project or is performed f or 2 0 minutes.

20 Using the r emote control The remo te use s two (2) AA bat teries (not included ). Install bat teries by r emoving the cover fr om the remote ’ s back, aligning the + and - ends of the bat teries, slidin g them into place, an d then replacing the cover .
21 Wired Remote Option If the wireless range of the remote is not suf ficient, the r emote can be wire d directl y into th e projecto r ’ s Wi red Remote conne ctor .
22 Using the k eypad buttons Most but tons are de scri bed in de tail in other sections, but here is an o verview of their functions: Po w e r –turns the pr ojector on and off ( pa ge 8 ). Input –change s the active sour ce ( page 8 ). Auto Sync – re synchr onizes the project or to the sour ce.
23 Using the menus T o open the menus, press the Menu button on the k eypa d or remote. U se the left and right arr ow buttons t o move between the menus, and the up and down to navigate to the desired menu item.
24 Input menu Input Selectio n: Allows you to choose the source y ou wish to display . PiP: Allows y ou to displa y two distin ct sources simultaneously , switc h sources, and choose betw een five dif ferent P i P placemen t options. Press the En te r butt on on the remote or control pane l to access the PiP subm enu.
25 Pictur e menu Picture Mode: Presets are provi ded that optimize th e projector for disp laying computer presentations and v ideo images under certain conditions.
26 Lamps menu Mode : Allows yo u to choose between sin g le and dual lamp mode s. Note: When using single lamp mode, the lamp with the least num ber of lamp hours turns on. Individual l amps are not user selectab le. Po w e r : Al lows you to choose between Normal, Cust om Pow er Level, and Eco power levels .
27 Alignment menu Pr ojection Mode: Allows you t o change the orientation of the image for ceiling mount ed, rear -projection and t able-top orienta tions.
28 Contr ol menu Eco Network P o wer : When this feature is set to Standard, Projec tor Control is set to RS232 and all network functions conti nue to work when the p r ojector is in standby (powered off but con n ected to AC Po wer). When this feature is set to Eco, network functions will not work wh en the projector is in sta ndby.

36 Replacing the lens This projector is ship ped without a lens. You can order a lens from www.infocus.com (in select areas), your retailer or your dealer. 1 T urn the projector of f and unplug the po wer cord. 2 W ait 60 minutes to allow the projector to c ool thoroughly .
37 Replacing the filters It is reco mmended tha t you clean the filter s every 250 hou rs (or as neede d depending on y our room e nvir onment) and replace the filters at the same time as you r eplace the lamps . Follow the in structions belo w . 1 T urn the projector of f and unplug the power cord.
38 Replacing the color wheel The color wheel of your pr ojector is user replace able. The color wheel which w as installe d by the fact or y is designed f or maximum color brightness and has 6 color segments (RY GCWB).
39 Using the security lock The pr ojector has a security lock for use with a Cable Lock System. R efer t o the information tha t came with the lock for ins tructions on how to use it.
