[ 14 ] GETTING ST ARTED Entering Y our Area Code If you enter a 3-di git area cod e number in th e “ Area Code ” option, your local ar ea code d oes not appear in Caller ID m essages . For calls received fr om outsid e your local area cod e, you will see a full 10-digit n umber .

You can select En glish, Fren ch, or Spanish. 1) When the ph one is in the standby m ode, pr ess menu/mute . 2) Press + or - to move th e pointer to “ Language “, then pr ess select/ch .
[ 16 ] On the han dset, you may also use th e speakerph one while talkin g on your phon e. Usin g the han dset speakerph one is called “han ds-free conversati on” . This feature allows you to easily communi cate while performin g other tasks , such as cookin g.
[ 17 ] BASICS BASICS Redialing a Call The last thr ee phon e numbers di aled can be quickly r edialed . Redialing from Standb y Mode 1) Press redial/p . The ph one n umber that was last dialed appears on the display . 2) Press redial/p again. Each press o f redial/p will display one o f the last thr ee numbers di aled.

[ 20 ] Adjusting the Earpiece and Handset Speaker V olume Y ou can select different volum e levels for th e handset earpi ece and th e handset speaker (V olume Low , Volum e Medium, Volum e High, and V olume Maximum). Th e volume can only be adjusted durin g a call.
[ 21 ] BASICS T one Dialing Switch-over Some teleph one compani es use equipmen t that requir es pulse dialin g (sometimes referr ed to as rotary di aling). If you n eed to enter ton e dialin g digits , you can switch-over to tone dialin g durin g the call.
[ 22 ] BASICS • If the han dset battery is completely drain ed, the handset will not beep when paging. Find Handset T o locate the handset, pr ess find handset on the base wh en the base is in the stan dby mod e . The han dset beeps for 60 secon ds, and “ Paging ” appears on th e handset display .
[ 23 ] PHONEBOOK PHONEBOOK Phon ebook allows you to dial a n umber using just a few k ey presses . Y our phone stor es nam es/numbers in th e phon ebook memory location, an d you can search n ames in alphabetical or der . Y ou have a total of 100 locations that can be used f or the phonebook (inclu ding th e Speed dials) an d Caller ID messag es.

[ 31 ] PHONEBOOK Chain Dialing The m emory locati ons in th e handset ar e not limited to ph one numbers. Y ou can also store a group o f numbers (up to 20 di gits), that you need to en ter once your call conn ects. This is referr ed to as Chain Dialin g.
[ 32 ] CALLER ID Y ou must subscribe to Caller ID service to use this feature . When th e telephon e rings , the Caller ID featur e allows you to view th e caller’s name and phon e number on th e display befor e you answer th e phon e. Ad ditionally , you can dial the displayed number an d store th e inform ation f or mem ory dialing.
[ 33 ] CALLER ID CALLER ID V iewing the Caller ID List The Caller ID list stor es inform ation f or incomin g calls – even unan swered calls. Y ou can store 100 o f the Caller ID m essages an d Phon ebook location s (including Speed Di als) in total.
[ 34 ] CALLER ID Once the Caller ID data has been deleted , the inform ation cannot be retrieved . Deleting a Caller ID message 1) When the ph one is in the standby m ode, an d while the in coming Caller ID inform ation is displayed , press xfer/del .
[ 35 ] CALLER ID CALLER ID • Y ou cannot mak e a call from the Caller ID list if your phone is conn ected to a private branch exchan ge (PBX). • When a lon g distance call has been set, “ 1 ” appears in the display . • If a call comes in vi a a telephone system that does not o ffer Caller ID service , no informati on is stored.
[ 36 ] CALLER ID • T o activate features, select “ CW Deluxe On ” in the Caller ID setup. See page 13. • Y ou can also answer a waiting call immedi ately by pressing t alk/flash , the first caller will be placed on hold. T o return to the origin al caller , press talk/flash again.
