SRP2002 2 Fe at u r e s The compact, portable design of the SRP2002 Plug-N-Play makes it easy to use, and its convenient carryi ng case allows for quick tra nsfer between multiple vehicles. The SRP2002 consists of two main components: a Down Link Processor (DLP) and a Display Control Unit (DCU).
SRP2002 3 Location and Mounting (continued) Display Control Unit The DCU comes with a cr adle designed to be mounted on the dash , allowing eas y access for opera ting the unit. The cradle can be mounted with two screws or with a strip of velcro, both of which are incl uded in the Plug-N-Play cas e.
SRP2002 4 Connecting Audio Connection Options The SRP2002 offers several options for connecting the radio to a car audio system: a 3.5 mm.-RCA audio cable, an RCA-RCA audio cable, and a Cassett e Adaptor . Note: Use only one met hod at a time for connecti ng audio to t he DLP .
SRP2002 5 Mounting the Antenna The antenna allows the radio to receive both ter restrial and satellite signals. Before using the radio, ma ke sure the antenna connector is plugged into the DLP and the antenna is properly mou nted on the outside of the car .
SRP2002 6 Operation Power On Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. The unit will run a diagnostic check. The Sirius logo appears temporarily , and the display will read "ACQUIRING SIGNAL" while it tunes to a channel.
SRP2002 7 Configuration Setting (continued) Modes of Operation Direct Mode Direct mode allows a user to c hoose individual c hannels by pressing the tuning button up or down. Channel s can also be accessed directly by pressing Select then entering the channel number .
SRP2002 8 Configuration Setting (continued) Change S Code The user security code, referred to as th e S code, is a four-digit code used to set, access and clear parental locks on selected stations. The default value is set to “0000” and may be changed at any time.
SRP2002 9 Direct Mode (continu ed) Scrolling Data If an Artist or Song title is too long to be displayed on the LCD, the scrolling function can be enabled to sc roll the text across the display . T o enable scrolling, press Func , and the text will scroll across the display two times.
SRP2002 10 Categor y Mode Manual Tuning Press the tuning button to select a channel within a categor y . Note: When tuning chann els within a category, the tuning button will only tune in chann els within that particular category.
SRP2002 11 Parental Loc k Out The parental lock out feature allows a user to lock out selected stations so they may only be accessed by using the S code. Setting Channel Lock Out T o set channel lock out, complete the following steps: 1. Access the des ired channel.
SRP2002 12 Skip/R estore Channel Skip / Delete a Channel 1. Use direct access to select the channel you want to skip/delete. 2. Press the Func and Select butto ns simultaneously for more than two seconds. The selected channel has now been deleted. Restore a Deleted Channel 1.
SRP2002 13 T r oubleshooting * Note: Man-made objects (m etal truss-type bridges, tall bu ildings, tunnels, etc.) and n atural objects (mountains, canyons, valle ys, etc.) can ca use a loss of satellite and terrestrial signals momentarily. If the signal is lost, the DLP will try and reacquire the satellite an d/or terrestrial signal(s).
