8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Cutting attac hment guard This guard is intended to pre vent loose objects from being thrown to wards the operator . The guard also protects the operator from accidental contact with the cutting attachment. Check that the guard is undamaged and not cr acked.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS If the muffler on y our machine is fitted with a spar k arrestor screen this must be cleaned regularly . A bloc ked screen will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage. Loc king nut A locking n ut is used to secure some types of cutting attachment.
10 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS General rules Only use cutting attachments with the guards we recommend! See the chapter on T echnical data. K eep the teeth of the blade correctly sharpened! Follo w our instructions and use the recommended file gauge.
English – 11 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the loop handle (GT 2125) • P osition the handle on the shaft. Note that the handle must be mounted below the arro w on the shaft. • Fit the screw , securing plate and wing nut as shown in the diagram. • Tighten the wing nut.
12 – English ASSEMBL Y Assembling and dismantling the tw o-piece shaft (GC 2125C) Assemb ly: • Loosen the coupling by turning the knob . • Align the tab of the attachment (A) with the arrow on the coupling (B). • Push the attachment into the coupling until the attachment snaps into place.
English – 13 ASSEMBL Y • Inser t a finger into the centre hole of the cov er (I) while grasping the co ver with y our other fingers. Using the index finger and thumb of your other hand, release the tw o catches (J) that engage in the cut-outs in the bottom half (K).
14 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the trimmer guar d and trimmer head (GT 2125) Guar d • Fit the guard as shown in the diagr am. Tighten securely . T rimmer head • Fit the dust cup on the shaft. The nut must be completely cov ered by the dust cup .

Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
16 – English FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
English – 17 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks ha ve f or med at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole .
18 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING CA UTION! Do not pull the star ter cord all the wa y out and do not let go of the star ter handle when the cord is fully e xtended. This can damage the machine. CA UTION! Do not put any part of your body in marked area.

Hold the cord parallel to and abo ve the area to be s wept and mov e the tool to and fro . • When cutting and s weeping you should use full throttle to obtain the best results.
22 – English MAINTENANCE Carb uretor Y our Jonsered product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce harmful exhaust fumes.
English – 23 MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment scre w T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate.
24 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the flywheel. 3 Cooling fins on the cylinder .
English – 25 MAINTENANCE T wo-piece shaft (GC 2125C) The drive shaft end in the low er shaft should be lubricated with grease e very 30 hours. There is a risk that the dr iv e shaft ends (splined coupling) on models with two-piece shafts will seize if the y are not lubricated regular ly .
