ENGLISH 5 Remote controller 3 • Selects the preset stations while listening to the radio . Each time you press the b utton, the preset station number increases, and the selected station is tuned in. • Skips to the first file of the previous f older while listening to an MP3 disc.
ENGLISH 6 Preparing the remote controller Before using the remote controller: • Aim the remote controller directly at the remote sensor on the main unit. Make sure there is no obstacle in between. • Do not expose the remote sensor to strong light (direct sunlight or ar tificial lighting).

10 ENGLISH RADIO OPERA TIONS Listening to the radio Y ou can use either automatic searching or manual searching to tune in to a par ticular station. 19 ENGLISH Prohibiting disc ejection Y ou can prohibit disc ejection and can lock a disc in the loading slot. While pressing CD/CD-CH (LINE), press and hold for more than 2 seconds. “ No Eject ” flashes on the display for about 5 seconds, and the disc is lock ed and cannot be ejected.
20 ENGLISH MP3 INTRODUCTION How are MP3 files recorded and played back? MP3 “ files (tracks) ” can be recorded in “ folder s ” —in PC terminology . During recording, the files and folders can be arranged in a wa y similar to arranging files and folders of computer data.
21 ENGLISH MP3 folder/ file configuration : Root : Folders : MP3 files MP3 playback/search order • The numbers in circles below the MP3 files ( ) indicate the playback order and search order of the MP3 files. Normally , this unit pla ys back MP3 files in the recorded order .

33 ENGLISH Downloading images and animations Before starting the following procedure , prepare a CD-ROM including still images (pictures) and animations (movies). • The supplied Image Converter CD-ROM includes sample images and animations, so you can use this disc as your first trial.
34 ENGLISH 5 Select (highlight) one of the listed items for whic h you want to download a file. • P owerOn : Opening screen T o download an animation to be shown after the unit is turned on. (Y ou can store only one animation consisting of a maximum of 30 frames.

58 ENGLISH Remedies Change the disc. Add the extension code — mp3 to their file names. Change the disc. (Record MP3 files using a compliant application.) Inser t a disc that contains files encoded in an appropriate format. Skip to another file or change the disc.
