5 ENGLISH 4 Adjust the sound as you want (see page 12 – 14). T o drop the volume in a moment Press briefly while listening to any source. “A TT” star ts flashing on the displa y , and the volume le vel will drop in a moment. T o resume the previous v olume lev el, press the button briefly again.
6 ENGLISH RADIO BASIC OPERA TIONS Listening to the radio Y ou can use either automatic searching or manual searching to tune into a par ticular station. Searching a station automatically: Auto search 1 Select the band (FM 1 – 3, AM). Note: This r eceiver has three FM bands (FM1, FM2, FM3).
7 ENGLISH 3 T une into a station you want while “ M ” is flashing. • If you release your finger from the b utton, the manual mode will automatically turn off after 5 seconds. • If you hold down the button, the frequency k eeps changing until you release the b utton.
8 ENGLISH Manual preset Y ou can preset up to 6 stations in each band (FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM) manually . Ex: Storing an FM station of 88.3 MHz into the preset number 1 of the FM1 band. 1 Select the band (FM1 – 3) you want to store FM stations into (in this example, FM1).
9 ENGLISH Playing a CD 1 Insert a disc into the loading slot. The unit turns on, draws a CD and starts playbac k automatically . Note: When a CD is inserted upside down, the CD automatically ejects. Note on One-T ouch Operation: When a CD is already in the loading slot, pr essing CD turns on the unit and starts playback automatically .
10 ENGLISH Locating a track or a particular portion on a CD T o fast-forward or reverse the track T o go to the next tracks or the previous tracks T o go to a particular track directly Press the number button corresponding to the tr ack number to star t its pla yback.
11 ENGLISH Prohibiting CD ejection Y ou can prohibit the CD ejection and can lock a CD in the loading slot. Press and hold CD and 0 f or more than 2 seconds. “ EJECT ” flashes on the display f or about 5 seconds, and the CD is lock ed and cannot be ejected.
12 ENGLISH SOUND ADJUSTMENTS Adjusting the sound Y ou can adjust the sound characteristics to y our preference . 1 Select the item you want to adjust. Each time you press the button, the adjustab le items change as f ollows: Indication T o do: Range BAS Adjust the bass.

15 ENGLISH OTHER MAIN FUNCTIONS Setting the clock 1 Press and hold SEL (Select) for more than 2 seconds. “CLOCK H”, “CLOCK M”, “SCM LINK” or “LEVEL ” appears on the display . 2 Set the hour . Select “CLOCK H” if not shown on the displa y .

17 ENGLISH Note on cleaning the connectors: If you fr equently detach the control panel, the connectors will deteriorate. T o minimize this possibility, periodically wipe the connectors with a cotton swab or cloth moistened with alcohol, being car eful not to damage the connectors.
18 ENGLISH MAINTENANCE Handling CDs This unit has been designed only to reproduce the CDs bearing the mark. • Other discs cannot be played bac k. How to handle CDs When removing a CD fr om its case, press down the center holder of the case and lift the CD out, holding it by the edges .
19 ENGLISH TROUBLESHOOTING What appears to be trouble is not alw ays serious. Check the f ollowing points before calling a service center . Symptoms • CD cannot be played bac k. • CD sound is sometimes interrupted. • “NO DISC” appears on the displa y .
