5 Prep aration Setting up the AM loop a ntenna NOTE • Keep the AM loop antenna ca ble wrapped around the AM loop ante nna frame, otherwise the effectiveness and sens itivity of the AM loop antenna may be reduced. Connecting the AM loop a ntenna T urn the AM loop antenna to find the best position for radio reception.
Prep aration 6 Connect the speakers to the ma in unit by connecting th e colored co nnectors to the same color terminals on the rear of the main unit. ■ IMPORT ANT • Improper speaker cable con nection reduces the stereo effect and sound quality .
7 Prep aration The left and right speakers can be fitted onto com- mercially available speaker stands. Before fitting the speakers onto commercially availabl e speaker stands, remove the speaker cables from the tabs and slots on the speakers. CAUTION • The left and right speakers can be installed on a wall.
Prep aration 8 After connecting a TV , follow the instructions on page 10. ■ IMPORT ANT • Connect the main unit directly to a TV (or a mo n- itor) without routing through a video cassette record er (VCR). Ot herw ise picture distortion may occur during playback.
9 Prep aration NOTE • Y o u can output the audio signal from th e [DIGIT AL OUT ] terminal when “DVD”, “USB” or “DG TL IN” is selected as the source in the dis- play window . • When “DG TL IN” is selected as the source in the display window , digi tal audio from the [DIGIT AL OUT] terminal is decoded to a linear PCM signal.

Listening to radio broadcasts 16 Presetting radio stations in the main unit allows you to easily tune in to a radio station. Y ou can store up to 30 FM radi o stations and up to 15 AM radio stations. 1 Select a radio st ation you want to store. • Refer to “Selecting a radio station” on page 15.
