5 Chapter 1 Turning the Camera On and Off 1 Slide th e On/Off switch to th e On positio n. The ready light blinks green while the camera performs a self-check, then glows steady green when the cam era is ready to take pictures. 2 T o turn off the camer a, slide the On /Off switch to the Off positi on.
6 Chapter 1 Select in g a Lang uage Y ou can display menus and screen messages in different languages. The Language screen is automatical ly displayed the first time you turn on the camera. If this is the first time the camera has been turned on, go to step 4.
7 Chapter 1 Setting the Clock The Date & Time screen appears the first time you turn on the camera or if the batter y is removed for an extended time. If this is the first tim e the cam era has been turned on, go to step 4. T o set th e date an d time aft er that: 1 In Capture or Revi ew mode, press the Menu butto n.
8 Chapter 1 Checking Camera Status T o check the current camera sett ings p ush the do wn arrow in Capture mode or the fla sh button a ny time: Camera Status Icons Battery Status If no battery icon appears on the LCD, the battery is fully charged. *A blin king batter y ico n means the b atter y is to o weak to power th e cam era.
9 Chapter 1 Inserting an MMC/SD Card Optional MMC/SD cards provide removable, reusable storage fo r pictures. CAUTION: The card can only be inse rted one way; forcing it may damage the camera or card. Do not inse rt or re move a car d when the green ready light is blinking; it may damage your pic tures, card, or camera.
10 Chapter 1 Choosing Internal Memory or MMC/SD Card The camera offers two options for storing pictures: Internal Memory — store up to 23 pictures (at Be st quality) i n the 16 MB inter nal m emor y . MMC/SD Card — store as many pi ctures as you like, storage capacity d epends on the size of the card.
11 Chapter 1 Camera Modes The camera has four modes: Capture, Review , Share, and Setup . Y o u can always tell which mode the camera is in: Capt ure — the LCD is b lank, no image is displa yed. If you press the down arrow , the sta tus bar a nd mode icon are disp layed.

13 2 T aking Pictur es—Captur e Mode Take a Picture A nytime The camera is in Capture mode when you turn it on. Press the Shutter button to take a pictur e.
14 Chapter 2 Liveview — Using the LCD to Frame Your Subject When you turn on Livevie w , the LC D displays a live image of wh at the lens sees. Look at the LCD to frame your picture. 1 Make sure the camera is in Capture mode ( on the LCD). 2 Press the OK bu tton to turn on Li veview .
15 Chapter 2 Quickview — Reviewing the Picture Just Taken After you take a pic ture, the LCD displ ays a Quickview of that pi cture for 5 seconds. While the picture is displaye d, you can: m Review It. If you take no act ion, the picture is saved. m Delete it.
16 Chapter 2 Using the Fl ash Use the flash when you ta ke picture s outdoors in hea vy shadows, at night, or indoors. Flash is effective at the d istances of 1.6 to 7.9 feet (0.5 to 2.4 m). Press the button repeatedly to scroll through th e flash optio ns.
17 Chapter 2 Using Digital Zoom Use Digital Zoo m to zoom in two times close r to your subject. The lens does not move during Digital Zoom. IMPORT ANT : Y ou may not ice a decrease in p r in ted im age qualit y when us ing Di gi tal Z oom. 1 Press the OK bu tton to turn on Li veview .
18 Chapter 2 Taking Close-up Pictures The Close-up setting helps you gain sharpness and det ail at close range. The Close-Up focus di stance is 7. 9 to 11.8 in. (200 to 300 mm). T o t urn on C lose-up: 1 Make sure the camera is in Capture mode. 2 Locate the Close Up control on the side of the camera, , then move the switch to the On po sition.
19 Chapter 2 Changing Pictur e-Taking Options Use the Capture menus to change picture-taki ng options. If you are in Review , Share, or Setup modes you must return to Capture mode before you can access the Capt ure menus.
20 Chapter 2 Putti ng Yo urse lf in th e Pic ture The Self T imer creates a 10-second delay between the time you press the Shutte r butto n and the time the pic ture is take n. 1 In Captu re mode, p ress t he Menu but ton. 2 Hig hlig ht Self T imer , then pres s the OK button.
21 Chapter 2 Setting Exposure Compensat ion Use E xposure C ompensatio n to co ntrol ho w much ligh t is al lowed in to the camera. The exposure range is +2 to -2 in 1/2-step increments.
22 Chapter 2 Setting Picture Quality Use the Qualit y setting to sel ect a pi cture reso lution: 1 In Capture mode, press the Menu butt on. 2 Highlig ht Qualit y , then press the OK butt on. The active Qua lity setting appears in the top left c orner .

B ut remember , you can press the Shutt er button and take a picture anytime, no matt er what mode the camera is in ! NOTE: Review ing pictures on the LCD quickly depletes bat tery power .
26 Chapter 3 To Access the Review Menus Use the Review menus to work with the pictures that are stored in internal memory or on a card. 1 Press the Review butt on.

34 Chapter 4 Tagging Pictures for Printing 1 Locate a picture, then press the Share button. 2 Highlight Pr int and press the OK button. 3 Press to select the number of copies (0-99) . Zero removes the tag for that picture. The Print icon appears with the picture.
35 Chapter 4 Tagging Pictur es for Emailing First, use KODAK EAS YSHARE Software to create an email address boo k on your computer , then copy up to 32 email addresses to the camera ’ s internal memory . See the KODAK EASYSHARE Software Help for details.

The Camera Dock i s also a rapid ba ttery charger for the included KODAK EA SYSHARE N i-MH Recharg eable Battery Pack, and supplies power to the camera.
50 Chapter 8 Installing the Camera Insert KODAK EASYSH ARE digital c ameras are packag ed with a cu stom camera insert, which is use d to perfectly fit the camera to the Camera Dock . 1 Place the front tabs on the cust om insert into the slots in the Came ra Dock c avity .

58 Chapter 9 Camera does not turn off . Alkaline b atteries w ere installed in the camera. DO NOT USE ALKALI NE BATTERIE S. Turn off the power s witch, remo ve the alkaline ba tterie s, and replace with a n approved battery typ e ( page 83 ). If th e p owe r sw itch is on when you replace the batteries, the camera may not turn back on.
59 Chapter 9 Part of the picture is miss ing. Something was blocki ng the lens whe n the picture was taken. Keep hands, fingers, or other objects away from the lens whe n ta king pi ctures. Your eye or the picture was not centered correctly in the viewfinder.
60 Chapter 9 Camera freezes up when a card is inserted or removed. Camera detects an error when the ca rd was inserted or removed. Turn the camera off, then back on. Make sure the camera is turned off before inserting or removing a card. Pict ure is too lig ht.
61 Chapter 9 Picture is not clear. The lens is dirty. Clean the lens ( pag e 80 ). Subject too close when ta king pi cture . Move so there is at least 1.6 ft (0.5 m) between the camera and the subject; or turn on Clo se-up ( page 18 ).
