4 QUICK SET-UP GUIDE Hint: Use good quality Alkaline Batteri es and avoid rec hargeable batteries. 1. Have the indoor weather station and remote th er mo/hygro sensor 3 to 5 apart. 2. Batteries shoul d be out of both uni t s fo r 1 5 m i nut es. 3. Place the batteries into the re mote thermo/ hygro sensor first then into the indoor weather station.
5 DETAILED SET-UP GUIDE I. Battery Installation Batteries will fit tightly. To avoid start-up problems, make sure th at th e batteries do not spring free. Also be sure to insert alkaline batteries into the remote thermo/hygro sensor first, then the indoor weather station.
6 II. Start Up Sequence A. Initial Start 1. Immediately after the batteries have been installed, th e indoor weather station will sound a “beep ”, and the LCD will completely light up for a bri ef mome nt. 2. All information will then appear in normal mode, with “12:00” as the default time and “TH.

Program Mode The program mode is lai d out in a m anner that allows yo u to progr am each function separa tely, or you can follow the instruction s entirely to program the indoor weather center.

13 FEATURES AND OPERATIONS A. Time Alarm Sett i ng and Operation 1. To set the time alarm : a. Press and hold th e ALM/DATE butto n for 5 seco nds. b. The alarm time will begin to flash to the right of the moon phase. c. Press and release the IN button to adjust the hour.
14 B. Moon Phase 1. There are 12 moon phases shown on the indoor w eathe r station; the white port ion signifies t he portio n of the m oon visible i n the sky. Thus, when th e moon icon is all white, it is a full moon. The indoor weathe r station is programm ed with al l moon phases from the year 2003 u ntil 2029.

Th e mini mum a nd maximum values are updat ed autom atically whe n a new m inimum or maximum is recorded, or until manually reset.

17 1. Weather Icons a. There are 3 possible weather icons that will b e disp layed at various times in the center of the indoor weather station . i Sunny— indicates that the w eather is expected to improv e (not that the weather will be sunny).
18 H. Barometric Air Pressure Reading 1. The actual barometric air pressure is displayed directly under the weather forecast icon 2. The relative air pressure is calibrated by the user through the programmi ng m ode. 3. Please Follow the programming instruction s in section F of the Detailed Set Up Guide to set this feature.
19 VII. MOUNTING Note: Before permane ntly mount ing, ensure that the i ndoor weather station is able to receive signals from the sens ors and WWVB signal at the desired location. To achieve a true temper atur e reading, avoid mounting the re mote thermo/h ygro sen sor (or any sensor) wh e r e direct sunlight can reach the remote sensor.
20 2. Mounting with Adhesive Tape a. With a nonabrasive solution, cl ean and dry the back of the mounting bracket and t he mounting surface to ensu re a secure hold. The mounting surface s h ould be smooth and flat. b. Remove the protecti ve strip from one side of the tape.
21 Maintenance and Care Instructions A. Extreme t emperatures, vibration, a nd shock should be avoi ded to prevent d amage to the units. B. Clean displays an d units with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents; they may mark th e d isplays and casings.
22 TROUBLESHOOTING Problem: The LC D is faint. Solution: 1) Set the LCD contrast to a higher level. 2) Replace batteries. Problem: No outdoor temperature/humidity is displayed. Solution: 1) Remove all batteries, reinsert into the remote thermo/hygro sensor first, then into the indoor weather station.
