Car diov ascular enduranc e is the most impor t ant component of ph ysic al fitne ss. There are two type s of car diov asc ular tr aining, these ar e int erval training and st eady state training. Interv al training varies the amount of eff ort requir ed to workout .
The three components o f a suc ce ssful car diov ascular ex er cise progr am ar e: • F requency • Int ensity • T ime In t erms o f fr equency , y ou should try and e xer cise at least three times per week and no more than five times per w eek.
Since your treadmill is a hea vy piece of equipment, we rec ommend that after taking off the top portion of the box, you slit the corner s o f the lo wer carton and fold down the sides. This will eliminate the need f or y ou t o pick up the tr eadmill over the sides o f the box.

Prior to st arting this st ep remov e these f our scr ews. 1. ( a.) T o attach the display you will first need to c onnect the main wiring harness onto the back of the displa y .
Display F unctions Gr ounding Instructions This product must be pr operly gr ounded to w ork saf ely and properly . If a malfunction should occur , grounding pro vides a path f or electric current and reduce s the risk of electric shock. Y our LifeSpan tr eadmill includes a s tandar d Americ an gr ound plug.
The Softstride comes with 5 Pr ogram types . F or each progr am, e x cept Manual you can select five diff er ent lev els o f difficult y with one being the easiest and 5 being the mo st dif ficult.
Interv al – the Interval progr am changes "Speed" to r aise y our hear t ra te for a shor t period a n d then r educe s the speed to bring your heart r ate back do wn ag ain. The starting and maximum speeds vary depending on the lev el that you chose but rang e fr om a starting speed o f 1 MPH in Le vel 1 to 4 MPH in Lev el 5.
Befor e starting y our tr eadmill the follo wing actions will need t o be properly c omplet ed: 1. Be certain that your tr eadmill sits stable on the floor . It is also rec ommended that you loc ate your tre admill in a pleasant ar ea that gives you something to look at while your w orking out, such as a window or television.
P ro gr am Se tup and Selection 1. T o Start a progr am simply select the desir ed pr ogr am by pr essing on either the "Up " and "Down " or "F ast " and "Slow" butt ons and then pr essing the "Mode" button.
The softs tride tr eadmill c omes with a folding feat ure that reduc es the amount of stor age spac e requir ed when y our tr eadmill is not in use and make s the treadmill easier to move .
Moving the T r eadmill Y ou will notice that there ar e two wheels locat ed on the treadmill base t o tr anspor t the treadmill once folded. See the pictur e belo w: 1. ( a.) While standing securely on the floor , grab the handlebar on each side and pull back on the tr eadmill to tr ansf er the treadmill weight onto the transport wheels.
Unfolding the T r eadmill 1. Mak e sur e that you have adequate spac e to lay down the treadmill and that the surf ace is lev el and solid. If y ou plan on using the treadmill when unfolded, make sur e that there is at least two feet of clear surfac e on both sides and the front , and f our feet o f a vailable surface in the back.
The softs tride tr eadmill is designed and manufactur ed t o be reliable and easy to use . How ev er , if you hav e a problem, thes e tr oubleshooting steps may help you find the cause .
Belt T ensioning If the belt begins to slip during use , it will need to be tensioned. Y our soft stride treadmill is equipped with tension bolts that are acce ssible fr om the back of the tre admill. Before tensioning the belt, start the tr eadmill and se t the speed to 3 MPH.
Belt Lubric ation T o lubricate the belt, remov e the rear end cap on both back corners of y our tr eadmill and spra y silicon lubricant ont o the back side of the belt. T o remo ve the endcaps you will need t o either la y the treadmill on its side or tip it f orw ard onto the handlebar s.
