4 Hotplate Bur ners The dra wing by each knob indicates which b ur ner that knob controls. There is a spar k ignition system that works when the knob is pressed in. Each burner also has a special saf ety device that stops the fl ow of gas if the fl ame goes out.
5 The Gr iddle The griddle fi ts the centre suppor ts, front to bac k. It is designed f or cooking food on directly . Don’t use pans of any kind on it. The griddle surface is non- stick and metal cooking utensils (e .g. spatulas) will damage the surf ace.
6 The W ok cradle The W ok cradle is designed to fi t a T yphoon TM Prof essional 14” Wok. If you use a diff erent Wok mak e sure that it fi ts the cradle . W oks var y v er y widely in size and shape . It’ s impor tant that the Wok sits do wn on the pan suppor t - but if the Wok is too small the cradle will not suppor t it proper ly .
7 F or best results, especially with toast, preheat the grill with the grill pan in the cooking position f or two minutes bef ore use. The grill trivet can be remov ed and the food placed on it while you are w aiting for the g r ill to preheat. The grill pan grid can be tur ned ov er to give two grilling positions.

12 Multi-function o ven functions Defrost This function operates the f an to circulate cold air only . No heat is applied. This enables small items such as desser ts, cream cakes and pieces of meat, fi sh and poultry to be defrosted. Defrosting in this wa y speeds up the process and protects the f ood from fl ies .
13 Browning element This function uses the element in the top of the ov en only . It is a useful function f or the browning or fi nishing of pasta dishes , vegetab les in sauce, shepherds pie and lasagne, the item to be browned being already hot bef ore switching to the top element.
