Disposal of the packing material The transport and protective packing has been selected from materials which are envir onmentally friendly for disposal and can normally be recycled. Ensure that any plastic wrappings, bags etc. are disposed safely and kept out of the reach of babies and young children.
This appliance conforms to current safety requir ements. Incorrect use can however lead to personal injury and damage to the appliance. Before installation and befor e using for the fist time, read the operating instructions carefully . They contain important infor mation on safety , in - stallation, use and maintenance of the appliance.
The appliance is only completely isolated from the electricity supply when: – it is switched off at the wall socket and the plug removed (do not pull on the cable, only on the plug), or – the fuse.
Installation The minimum safety distance be - tween the top of the cooker / hob and the bottom of the cooker hood should be at least: – 550 mm above electric hobs and cookers, – 650 mm above gas h.
When using the cooker hood at the same time as another heating ap - pliance which depends on the air in the room (e.g. gas, oil or coal fir ed heaters, continuous flow or other water heaters, gas cook.

The cooker hood works with . . . air extraction: The air is drawn in and cleaned by the grease filters and dir ected outside. The cooker hood is fitted with a non-re - turn flap. This flap is closed when the cooker hood is switched off. No ex - change of room air and outside air can take place.
Main switc h Switch the main switch to "I". The fan and the lighting can now be operated. If the appliance is not going to be used for a longer period of time (e.g. whilst on holiday) switch the appliance off by turning the main switch to "0".
T o switc h the fan off ^ Use the On/Off touch contr ol to switch the fan off. The indicator lamp for the control goes out. Switching the lighting on The hob lighting can be switched on and off independently of the fan. ^ Briefly pr ess the lighting touch con- trol to switch on the hob illumination.
Filter operating hours counter The number of hours the appliance has been in operation for is stored in mem - ory . The indicator lamp for the grease filter control will light up after 30 hours of op - eration. The grease filters must then be cleaned.
Altering the filter operating hours counter The operating hours counter for the grease filters is set to 30 hours. This time can be lengthened or shortened. Y ou can choose from 20, 30, 40 or 50 hours. – Select a short time if you roast or fry a lot.
Before any cleaning or maintenance work the cooker hood must be dis - connected from the mains supply . Ensure that: – it is switched off at the fused spur connection unit, or – the mains fuse is withdrawn, or – the screw-out fuse is r emoved (in countries where this is applicable).
Grease filters The re-usable metal gr ease filters in the appliance remove solid particles from the kitchen vapours (grease, dust, etc) preventing soiling of the cooker hood. The filters should be cleaned regularly (at least every 3-4 weeks) to avoid a build up of fat, but always clean imme - diately the grease filter touch contr ol lamp comes on.
^ When removing the filters for clean - ing also clean off any r esidues of oil or fat from the now accessible hous - ing to prevent the risk of these catch - ing fire. When replacing the gr ease filters make sure the locking clips ar e visible facing down towards the hob.
Changing a halogen lamp Disconnect the cooker hood from the mains supply . Ensure that: – it is switched off at the fused spur connection unit, or – the mains fuse is withdrawn, or – the screw-out fuse is r emoved (in countries where this is applicable).
In the event of a fault which you cannot correct yourself, or if the appliance is under guarantee please contact: – Y our Miele Dealer or – The Miele Service Department (see back cover for address). When contacting the Service Depart - ment, please quote the model and serial number of your appliance.

Safety regulations pr ohibit the fitting of this cooker hood over a solid fuel stove. For safety reasons a minimum safe distance S must be maintained be - tween the top of the cooker/hob and the bottom of the cooker hood of at least: – 550 mm above electric cookers/hobs, – 650 mm above gas cookers/hobs.
Ceiling plate: D A 200-2, D A 200-2 EXT Ceiling plate: D A 210-2 / 210-2 EXT Ceiling plate: D A 220-2 / 220-2 EXT ^ Address the ceiling plate and posi - tion it exactly . The orange coloured arrow on the ceiling plate must face to the front of the cooker hood.
^ If the cooker hood is to be connected to an external fan motor , create the gap for the connection cable to the fan motor . Ensure that the diameter is sufficient to be able to feed thr ough the 6-pole connector . In the following instructions only one type of ceiling plate is shown.
^ Prepar e the ceiling plate for fitting. In- sert the two spring retainers from be- low into the slots provided in the ceil- ing plate. ^ Pull the mains connection cable through the ceiling plate. ^ Insert the four countersunk screws M 6 x 20 into the recessed holes fr om above.
^ Assemble the tower . Place the flange plate of the tower onto the ceiling plate in such a way that the spring clips click into the slots securely . ^ Screw the flange plate secur ely to the ceiling plate with the four M6 nuts supplied.
Danger of toxic fumes. Please heed the "W ar ning and Safety instructions" to avoid the dan - ger of toxic fumes. The cooker hood should be installed according to local building r egula - tions. Seek approval fr om the build - ing inspector where necessary .
Important: If the exhaust ducting is to run through rooms, ceiling space etc. wher e there may be great variations in temperatur e between the differ ent areas, the prob - lem of sweating or condensation will need to be addressed. The exhaust ducting will need to be suitably insu - lated.
All electrical work should be under - taken by a suitably qualified and competent person in strict accor - dance with national and local safety regulations. Installation, repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous. The manufactur er can not be held responsible for un - authorised work.
