GB - 11 Nev er fi ll containers inside a v ehicle or on a truck or trailer bed with a plastic liner . Alwa ys place containers on the ground aw ay from your v ehicle before fi lling. When practical, remov e gas-powered equipment from the truck or trailer and refuel it on the ground.

GB - 13 Install Discharge Chute - Electric Rotation (924505, 506) 1. Remo ve chute motor co ver . 2. Remo ve the six (6) nuts from ring gear (Figure 7). 3. Remo ve two (2) half rings. 4. P osition Discharge Chute over threaded studs with the chute opening facing the electric motor .
GB - 14 Check Function of Dual Handle Interlock Without the engine running, press down (engage) both clutch lev ers. Release attachment clutch lev er . Attachment clutch should remain engaged until traction clutch lev er is released, then both clutches must disengage.
GB - 15 Attachment Clutch - Right Hand Le ver Squeeze Attachment Clutch Lev er against handlebar (1) to engage attachment. Release both clutch lev ers (2) to disengage power and apply brake to attachment. IMPORT ANT: If the belt squeals when the attachment clutch lev er is engaged, the attachment drive ma y be frozen.
GB - 16 Discharge Chute De fl ector AL WA YS position discharge chute de fl ector at a safe angle bef ore star ting engine. DO NO T throw snow an y higher than necessary . Push de fl ector handle forw ard or down to throw snow lo wer . Pull de fl ector handle up or to the rear to throw snow higher .
GB - 17 Scraper Blade The scraper blade allo ws the back of the housing to keep better contact with the surf ace being cleared. It also prevents damage to the housing from normal wear . IMPORT ANT: DO NOT allow Scr aper Blade to wear too f ar or Auger/Impeller housing will become damaged.
GB - 18 STARTING AND SHUT OFF IMPORT ANT: Allo w unit and engine to adjust to the outdoor temperatures bef ore clearing snow . Before shut-off , r un the attachment a fe w minutes to pre vent freez e-up. NO TE: T r y out each control without the engine running to see how it works and what it does.
GB - 19 IMPORT ANT: DO NO T operate star ter more than 15 seconds per minute, as o verheating and damage can occur . (If engine does not star t, ref er to T roubleshooting .) 7. Adjust chok e as needed. 8. Set throttle to P ar t Throttle or Slo w position for tr av el or adaptation to outside temperature.
GB - 20 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE The char t below sho ws the recommended maintenance schedule that should be performed on a regular basis. More frequent service may be required. * After fi rst two hours of operation. CHECK DUAL HANDLE INTERLOCK Without the engine running, press down (engage) both clutch lev ers.
GB - 21 GENERAL LUBRICATION IMPORT ANT: Wipe each fi tting clean before and after lubrication. IMPORT ANT: DO NO T allow grease or oil to get on friction disc, friction plate or belts. NO TE: Apply Stens Mix Hi-T emp Grease or equivalent to the lubrication fi ttings.
GB - 22 CLEAN BATTERY (924332, 505, 506, 508) IMPORT ANT: Batter y is maintenance free. Do not tamper with or attempt to open battery . See Ser vice and Adjustments f or charging procedures. T erminals K eep batter y and its terminals clean. IMPORT ANT: Remo ve battery from unit before cleaning.
GB - 23 Smooth and easy rotation of properly lubricated chute with crank is obtained by adjusting pinion and chute gear teeth so they mesh together . RUNNERS Runners should be adjusted (Figure 15) as conditions require. 1. P osition unit on a hard, fl at, smooth lev el surface .
GB - 24 SPEED SELECTOR ADJUSTMENT T o adjust (Figure 17): 1. Place unit into service position. 2. Remo ve hair pin from adjustment piv ot pin. 3. Pull shift rod and pin out of speed selector lev er . 4. Place the speed selector in the f astest rev erse speed position.
GB - 25 6. Adjust spring length. NO TE: Approximately 1/8 in. (3 mm) mov ement of the idler will change spring extension b y 1/8 in. (3 mm). a. Loosen the idler adjustment nut. b . T o increase spr ing e xtension, mov e idler towards belt (Figure 21).
GB - 26 ATTACHMENT DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT Remove old attac hment drive belt: 1. Shut off engine and allo w to cool completely . 2. Remo ve belt co ver (Figure 20). 3. Remo ve spring clip from chute crank to remov e chute crank. 4. Remo ve hardw are holding chute strap to engine brack et and lift discharge chute off housing.
