Failure to follow instructions could result in personal injury and/or damage t o unit. AL WA YS remove key and/or wire from spark plug before assem bly , m aintenance or service.
GB - 8 AL WA YS keep hands away from all pinch points. DO NOT touch unit part s which might be hot from operation. Allow part s to cool before attempting to maintain, adjust or service. Never direct discharge towards persons or property that may be injured or damaged by thrown objects.
GB - 9 Fuel is highly flammable and it s vapors are explosive. Handle with care. Use an approved fuel container . NO smoking, NO sparks, NO flames. AL WA YS allow engine to cool before servicing. NEVER fill fuel tank when engine is running or hot from operation.
GB - 10 PACKAGE CONTENTS ASSEMBLY T ools Required : • Pliers • Open-End Wrenches: 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16 in. and/or Adjustable W rench •T i r e G a u g e Unfold Handle bar (Figure 4) 1. R emove the lower and loosen the upper wing knobs on the handlebar assembly .
GB - 11 (Figure 6, 7 ) 4. R emove the co ver from the gear assembly on the discharge c hute. 5. R elease the lock teeth on the gear assembly with your finger and rotate the discharge chute 90 ° left. 6. R emove and save the hairpin from the control assembly underneath the control panel.
GB - 12 NOTE: Press down on lock teeth with your finger to align the cable ball end with the slot (Figure 8) . 10. R eplace the gear cover removed in step 4. IMPORT ANT : Rotate the disc harge chute to the lef t when tightening the pedest al hardware to ens ure clearance between t he discharge chute and the belt cover.

GB - 17 Forwar d: (6) Fast est (1) Slowest Reverse: (1) Slow (2) Fast IMPORT ANT : DO NOT change motion from forward to reverse with clutch engaged. Forward speed can be changed without declutching. Choke Control Knob 1.Choke Closed position: chokes off air to engine for easier start.
GB - 18 Discharge Chute Con trol IMPORT ANT : If chute does not stay in set position, adjust as directed in SE R VI C E AND ADJUST MENTS on page 26 , or repair before operation. Rotate the Chute with Discharge Chute Control. IMPORT ANT : DO NOT force frozen chute controls.
GB - 19 Scraper Blade The scraper blade allows the back of the housing to keep better contact wit h the surface being c leared. It also prevents damage to the hous ing from normal wear. IMPORT ANT : DO NOT allow Scraper Blade to wear too far or Auger/Impeller housing will become damaged.
GB - 20 FILLING FUEL T ANK Fuel Shut-Off V alve IMPORT ANT : The fuel shut-off valve MUST be in the closed positi on prior to transporting the unit. The fuel shut -off valve has two positions: T o add fuel to fuel t ank: 1. AL WA YS place unit in open or well- ventilated area.
GB - 21 2. Check Function o f Clutches If clutches do not engage or disengage properly , adjust or repa ir bef ore operation. See Attachment Clutch/Brak e Adjustment on page 29 and T raction Drive Clutch Adjustmen t on p age 32. 3. Che ck Dual Ha ndle Inte rlock Without the engine running, pres s down (engage) both clutch levers.
GB - 22 Electric S t art (240V) 1. C onnect extension cord to starter . IMPORT ANT : Prevent damage to unit. Know voltage of your starter a nd only use m atching outlets. 2. Plug ex tension cord into 240V 3-wire, grounded outlet. 3. Turn discharge chute s traight ahead.
GB - 23 2. 926302, 310, 31 1, 312, 313: Press down on handlebars enough to raise f ront of unit slightly off surface. 926314, 315, 316: Place the unit in the transport position (see T rack Angle (926314, 315, 316) on page 19). 3. Engage wheel or track drive clutch without engaging attachment drive clutch.
GB - 24 CHECK DUAL HANDLE IN TE RLO CK Without the engine running, pres s down (engage) both clutch levers. Release attachment clutch lever . Attachment clutch should remain engaged until traction cl utch lever is released, then both clutches must disengage.
GB - 25 Auger Shaf t NOTE: T o grease auger shaft, remove shear bolt nuts, and shear bolts. Apply grease at the grease zerks and then turn the auger shaft. Replace shear bolts per instructions in Shear Bolts on page 26. Clean Ba ttery (926312 , 313, 316) IMPORT ANT : Battery is maintena nce-f ree.
GB - 26 4. Replace the cov er plate and se cure in position with the two s crews removed in step 1. NOTE: Make sure the wire harness does not get pinched between the cover plate and the auger housing. SCRAPER BLADE IMPORT ANT : Damage to auger/impeller housing will result if blade wears down too far.
GB - 27 For Replace ment: 1. Align shea r bolt holes in auge r with shear bolt holes in the shaf t. 2. D rive shear bolt through hole (if shear bolt was broken this will drive remaining part from shaft). 3. Secure shear bolt wit h nut. HANDLEBAR HEIGHT T o raise or lower t he handlebar: 1.
GB - 28 7. C heck and adjust attachment clutch, speed selector and traction clutch. See Speed Selector Adjustment on page 29 and T rac tion Drive Clutch Adjustment on page 32. 8. R e-install bottom cover . REMOTE WHEEL LOCK (926302) If remote wheel lock does not lock or unlock: 1.
GB - 29 If chute does not rot ate freely: T ighten the cable by loosening t he upper adjustment nut, and then tightening the lower adjustment nut against the bracket (Figure 30). SP EED SELE CTOR ADJUSTMENT T o adjust (Figure 3 1): 1. D isconnect adjustment pivot pin from speed selector lever by removing hair pin.
GB - 30 3. With t he attachment clutch disenga ged, check that the attachment idler arm lightly touches the frame. See Figure 33 . 4. Tighten jam nut on the adjustment barrel. Check Atta chment Idler Arm Rolle r Clearan ce NOTE: It wil l be diff icult to check the measurement inside the frame.
GB - 31 Adjust th e Att achment Clutch C able S pring Extension 1. C heck the attachment clutch cable spring extension. Measure the length o f the attachment clutch cable spring with the clutch lever disengaged. Then measure the attachment clutch spring with the clutch lever engaged.
GB - 32 2. If t here is less t han 1/16 in. (1.6 mm) gap between brake pad and belts, follow these steps: a. T o increase brake pad gap, loosen idler adjustment nut, and move idler aw ay from belt. Position idler to achieve a 1/16 in. (1.6 mm) minimum brake pad gap and a 1/2 in.
GB - 33 5. Adjust spring extension. a. With the traction drive clutch lever disengaged, loosen the jam nut on the cable adjuster. b. Turn the adjuster body up the cable for more spring extension. c. Turn the adjuster body dow n the cable for less spring extension.
GB - 34 Inst all new att a chment drive belt s: 1. Place new attachment belts onto attachment pulley . NOTE: Holding down the attachment clutch lever will make it easier t o reconnect the housing and frame. 2. Tip housing and f rame back together and secure with hex bolts.
GB - 35 9. Install pinion sprock et and chain on hex shaft, then replace bearing flanges. 10. H old wheel so friction dis c will not rotate and secure new friction disc to carrier with three hex screws remov ed in step 2. 1 1. Replace wheels. 12. R eplace bottom cover.
GB - 36 3. Turn the adjustment barrel to remove all cable slack and bring the overtravel arm until it makes slight contact with the right end of the slot in the hei ght adjuster lock finger . 4. Tighten the jam nut s . SHORT T ERM IMPORT ANT : NEVER spray unit with high pressure wat er or store unit outdoors.
