7 5 Setting Up Y our Snow Thr ower 5. Remove the flat washer and h airpin c lip from t he end of the chu te direct ional c ontrol. Insert th e end of the c hute direc tiona l control i nto the lower bracket and sec ure with th e flat washer and hair- pin cl ip just removed.

16 A ug ers • The auger s are secured to t he spira l shaft w ith t wo shear pins a nd cot ter pins. If t he auger shoul d strike a foreign ob ject or i ce jam, t he snow thrower is des igned so that the p ins may shear . Refer to Fig ure 9. • If the aug ers will not tur n, chec k to see if the p ins have sheared.
