4 • When cleaning, repairing, or inspecti ng, make certain the auger, impell er and all moving parts have stopped. Disconnect spark plug wire and keep away from plug to prevent accidental starting. • Do not run engine indoors, except when starting engine and transporting snow th r ower in or out of building.
5 SECTION 2: LOOSE PARTS The snow thro wer is shippe d with followi ng loose parts in th e carton. Pl ease rem ove all loose p arts from the ca rton before dis carding it. S ee Figure 1 to ident ify the pa rts noting that th ese parts m ay be referr ed to again in the following s ections of thi s manual.

Wind the headligh t wire aroun d the right handl e until exces s slack i s remove d.
7 b. Engage th e tractio n control, a nd attempt to mov e them m achine bo th f orw ard an d rearward. Y ou should ex perien ce resist ance as the wheels should not be tur ning. • Move the s hift lev er into the fast r everse (R 2) position a nd repeat the p revious steps (a & b) .
8 Fuel S hut-off Valve The fuel s hut-off val ve, loc ated under fuel t ank, contr ols fuel fl ow from the tank. Alw ays m ake cer tain it is in the O pen (vertic al) posi tion before atte mpting to start the e ngine. Thro tt le Co nt rol The throttle contr ol is loca ted on the engine.
9 • Electr ic Start: Do NO T prime engine . Push starter button on to p of the engine to cr ank the engin e. When en gine star ts, release s tarter but ton. • Recoil Star t: Grasp s tarter h andle (see F igure 7) and pull r ope ou t slowly, unti l it pull s sligh tly hard er.
10 SECTION 6: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: N EVER attempt to c lean chute or make any adjus tments while engine is running. Chute Assembly Adju stment The distanc e snow is thrown c an be adjusted by adjustin g the angle of the c hute asse mbly. The sharp er the angle, the s horter the dis tance sno w is thrown.
11 If adjustme nt is necessa ry: • Loosen th e jam nut on the tr action driv e cable and thread the c able in or ou t as necess ary. • Retig hten the jam nut to s ecure the cab le when correct ad justment i s reached. • Reasse mble the fram e cover.

15 SECTION 9: OFF-SEASON STORAGE WARNING: Never store e ngine with fuel in tank indoors or in poorly ventilated areas, where fue l fumes may reach an open flame, spark o r pilot light as on a furnace, water heater , clothes dryer or other gas app lian ce.
