Outbound traf fic rules control access to outside resources from local users. The default rule is to allow all access from the LAN side to the outside.

This means that your network presents only one IP address to the Internet, and outside users cannot directly address any of your local computers.

T roubleshooting 49 NETGEAR DOCSIS 3.0 N450 Wi-Fi Data Gateway Basic Functions After you have turned on power to the gateway, do the following: 1. Check to see that the Power LED is lit. 2. Check that the numbered Ethernet LEDs light momentarily . 3. After a few seconds, check that the LEDs are lit for any local ports that are connected.
