PT Overview 1-9 1.1 Configuration Usage A UTO ANSWER/MUTE Button Used for answering an extension automatically , or turns the microphone off during a con versation. A UTO DIAL/STORE Button Used for System Speed Dialing or storing program changes. CONF (Conference) Button Used to establish a three-party conference.
1.1 Configuration 1-10 PT Overview Fle xible Buttons Flexible Buttons do not ha ve specific features permanently assigned to them. Features are assigned to Flexible Buttons through Station Programming. “Fle xible Button Assignment” is addressed in Station Programming (Section 2).
PT Overview 1-11 1.1 Configuration Line Access Buttons One of the follo wing three types of CO buttons must be used to seize an outside (CO) line when making a call.
1.1 Configuration 1-12 PT Overview Other -CO (O-CO) Button Outside (CO) lines which are not assigned to S-CO or G-CO b uttons can be assigned to a flexible CO b utton on a proprietary telephone. The assigned b utton serves as the O-CO button. An incoming call, on assigned outside (CO) lines, arrives at the O-CO b utton.
PT Overview 1-13 1.1 Configuration Initial Settings Display Contrast Adjustment (KX-T7030 and KX-T7130 only) The CONTRAST selector is used to adjust the display contrast. PT HIGH LOW MID CONTRAST Adjust the CONTRAST lever to the desired setting (LOW/MID/HIGH).
1.1 Configuration 1-14 PT Overview PT NORMAL HIGH HANDSET VOLUME Adjust the HANDSET VOLUME lever to the desired setting (three levels from NORMAL to HIGH). Be sure the headset is connected. PT HIGH OFF LOW RINGER Adjust the RINGER Volume lever to the desired setting (OFF/LOW/HIGH).

If the call is not answered, the call information is automatically recorded.

3-32 T elephone F eatur es C 3.2 T elephone F eatures Conditions • Doorphone calls can be picked up from e xtensions that are not programmed to answer doorphone calls. • Y ou can hear a confirmation tone when the call is picked up. The tone can be disabled.
T elephone F eatur es 3-33 3.2 T elephone F eatures C Conditions • Y ou can pick up an incoming outside, intercom or doorphone call, but you cannot pickup a Camp-On recall and hold recall. • Y ou can hear a confirmation tone when the call is picked up.

T elephone F eatur es 3-35 3.2 T elephone F eatures C Conditions • When you try to pick up a call and hear a reorder tone, the T AM is not answering the call or the dialed extension is not the T AM extension. • A T AM number is the 3-digit extension number of the T AM.

Screened Call T ransfer: The destination confirms the transfer before sending. Unscreened Call T ransfer: The line is released after transferring the call without confirmation.
3-38 T elephone F eatur es C 3.2 T elephone F eatures Call T ransfer using a DSS b utton Allo ws you to perform a Screened or Unscreened Call T ransfer by using a DSS button. There are two operations, depending on whether or not One-T ouch T ransfer* is set.
T elephone F eatur es 3-39 3.2 T elephone F eatures C Conditions • If the destination extension does not answer the call within a pre-determined time (default: 30 seconds), “T ransfer Recall” occurs. • If there is no answer within thirty minutes after “T ransfer Recall” starts, the line will be disconnected.
3-40 T elephone F eatur es C 3.2 T elephone F eatures Conditions • If a CPC signal is sent to an outside (CO) line before the assigned time limit, a call between two e xternal parties will be disconnected. • System programming is required to ex ecute this feature.
T elephone F eatur es 3-41 3.2 T elephone F eatures C Call W aiting During a con versation, a Call W aiting tone informs you that there is a call waiting. Y ou can answer the second call by disconnecting the first call or placing it on hold. Setting / Canceling for outside calls Any T elephone Lift the handset or press SP-PHONE/MONITOR.
