14 OPERA TION ADD GASOLINE • Fill fuel tank to bottom of fi ller neck. Do not ov erfi ll. Use fresh, clean, regular un lead ed gasoline with a minimum of 87 octane. (Use of leaded gasoline will increase carbon and lead o xide deposits and reduce valv e life).

18 MAINTENANCE V- B E LT S Check V -belts f or deterioration and wear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able . Re place belts if the y begin to slip from wear . ENGINE LUBRICA TION Only use high quality detergent oil rated with API service classifi cation SG-SL.
19 MAINTENANCE 00 667 MUFFLER Inspect and replace corroded muffl er and spark arrester (if equipped) as it could create a fi re hazard and/or dam- age. SP ARK PLUGS Replace spark plugs at the beginning of each mowing season or after e v er y 100 hours of operation, whiche v er occurs fi rst.

23 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O ADJUST A TT ACHMENT CLUTCH (See Fig. 25) The electric clutch should provide years of service. The clutch has a built-in br ake that stops the pulle y within 5 seconds. Ev entually , the inter nal brake will w ear which ma y cause the mow er blades to not engage , or , to not stop as required.
