6 IN STALLATI ON MOUNTING THE PHONE You can plac e the E T-1102’s base on a desk or table, mount it on a sta ndard wall plate, or mount it directly on a wall.
7 4. Insert the supplied AC adapt er’s barrel plug into the DC IN 9V ja ck on the back of the base. 5. Route the adapter ’s cord through the strain relief slot on the bracket. 6. Plug the adapt er into a sta ndard A C outle t. 7. Lift the base ’ s antenna t o a vertical positio n.

Plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet. 7. Press and lift out the handset hold- er , rot ate it 180 × , then snap it back into p lace.

10 1. Press down an d slide off the battery pack compartme nt cover as shown. 2. Unfasten the plas ti c ret ainer strap and lift the batte ry pack out of t he compartment .

14 T ELEPHONE O PERATION MAKING AN D RECEIVING CALLS To make a call, l ift t he hand set and press TA L K (the IN US E indicator on the base lights), then dial the number. You see the num ber as you di al, then (after a few sec onds) the call’s el apsed time.
15 USIN G FLASH FLASH performs t he electron ic equiva- lent of a switchhook operat ion for spe- cial services, such as Call Waiting. For exam ple, if you hav e Call Waiting, press FLASH to answer an i ncomi ng call without disconne cting the current call.
16 MEMORY DIALI NG You can st ore up to ten phone num bers and names in memory, then d ial a stored number by entering it s me mory locat i on number. Each st ored numb er can be up to 20 digits, and e ach name c an be up to 14 characters.

20 CALLER ID OPERATION If yo u su bs cr ib e to C al ler ID se rv ic e fr om your phone com pany, the phone compa- ny sends inform ation about t he call, as well as th e time and date, betwe en the fir st and second rings of every call you receive.
21 Caller ID Messag es DIALING NUMBERS FROM A CALLER ID RECOR D To dial a l ocal number stored in a Caller ID record, recall the record, then press TA L K . If it is a long distan ce call, press 1 ( 1 appears be fore the displayed num - ber) before you press TA L K .
22 2. Choose a memory location ( 0 –9) by pressing a number or b y re peatedly pressing s or t, then press SELECT . If the selected location is empty, the phone bee ps t o confirm that it stored the number, the n the Caller ID record appears.

26 REPLACING THE BATTERY PACK If you f ollow the instructions in “ Conn ect- ing and Charging the Battery Pack ” on Page 9, the battery pack should last about one year. I f th e battery pack does not hold a ch arge for more than 2 hours after an overnight c harge, replace it with a new 3.
