6 INSTALLA TION MOUNTING THE P HONE You ca n pl ace t he E T-111 9’s base on a desk or table, mou nt it on a standard wall plate , or mount it dir ectly on a wal l.

13 OPERATION MAKING AND RECEIVING CALLS To make a call, li ft the hands et and press TA L K (the CHARGE /IN USE in di- cator on the base l ights), then dial the number. Y ou view the number as yo u di- al, then (after a few secon ds) the call’s elapsed tim e.
14 USING FLASH Flash perfor ms the electron ic equiva - lent of a switchh ook oper ation for spe- cial se rvic es, such as Call Wa iti ng. For example , if y ou hav e Ca ll Wa iti ng, pres s FLASH to answ er an in coming c all without disconne cting th e current call.
15 Each stored nu mber can be up to 20 digits, and each name can be up to 14 charac ters. Storing a Name and Number in Memory Notes: • An error tone sounds and the phone exits the s toring proc ess if you wait more tha n 20 s eco nds be twee n each key pr ess.
16 For each s tored numbe r, write t he per- son’s o r compa ny’s na me next to the ap- propriate l ocation num ber on the supplie d memor y directo ry sticker. Peel the backi ng from the sticker an d attach it to the phon e. To re plac e a st ored num ber, simp ly store a new one in i ts plac e.
17 Reviewing Memory Numbers To review your memor y numbers, press MEM . The list of memory lo catio n num- bers ( 1 - 0 ) ap pears with t he name stored with ea ch numbe r (or <Memory n > if you did n ot store a name). To view the sto red phone number s, press .
