4 5 n DANGER! Keep hands away from cutting area and bla de. Keep your seco nd hand on th e aux ili ary handl e, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade. n Keep your body positioned to either side of the saw blade, but not in line with the saw blade.
4 5 n Do not use dull or damaged blade. Unsharpened or improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing ex- cessive friction, blade binding and KICKBACK. n Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers must be tight and secure before making cut. If blade ad- justment shifts while cutting, it may cause binding and KICKBACK.

8 9 DOUBLE INSULA TION Double insulation is a concept in safety in electric power tools, which eliminates the need for the usual three-wir e grounded power cord. All exposed metal parts ar e isolated from the internal metal motor components with protect- ing insu lation.

14 15 OPERA TION Fig. 5 Fig. 6 KICKBACK See Figures 5, 6, 7, and 8. Kickback occurs when the blade stalls rapidly and the saw is driven back towards you. Blade stalling is caused by any action which pinches the blade in the wood. See Figure 5. DANGER: Release switch immediately if blade binds or saw stalls.

18 19 OPERA TION TO ADJUST POSITIVE 0° BEVEL STOP See Figures 16 and 17. n Unplug the saw. n Pull bevel adjustment lever upward to release. n Turn set screw with hex wrench and adjust base until it is square with the saw blade. n Securely lock the bevel adjustment lever.
20 21 OPERA TION TO BEVEL CUT See Figure 18. WARNING: Attempting a bevel cut without having the bevel adjustmen t lever securely locked in place can re sult in serious injury . n Hold the saw firmly with both hands as shown. n Rest the front edge of the base on the workpiece.
