4 Section 1: Getting Star ted This section explains how to start using your tablet by configuring your hardware and ac tivating your service. Setting Up Y our T ablet Prior to use it is nec essary to install both the SIM c ard and the memory ca rd into their corresponding compartments.
Getting Started 5 䊳 Push the mic roSD card into th e slot until it c licks (as shown). • Make sure the microSD’ s gold cont act pins face downw ard and the card is securely in serted. Note: Y our tablet has been tested to support up to a 32GB memor y card.

Entering T ext 29 Section 3: Entering T ext This section describes how to se lect the desired text input method when entering characters into your tablet . Th is section also describes the predictive text entry system that reduces the amount of key st rokes associated with ente ring text.
30 Changing the T ext Input Mode - K eypad There are two main keypad layout keys that will change the on- screen keys within the QWERTY key pad. The available T ext Input modes are: Sym and Abc . Note: When in Abc mode, the Sym button will appear . When in Sym mode, the Abc / ABC / abc button will appear .
Entering T ext 31 Using Symbol/Numeric Mode Use Symbol/Numeric Mode to add numbers, symbols, or emoticons. 1. Rotate your tablet counterclockwise to a Landscape orientation. 2. Ta p at th e bottom of the scre en. The following screen displays: 3. T ap the desi red number , symbol, or e moticon characters.
32 5. Begin typing a word. A list of wo rd options is displa yed. T ap one of the words to replac e the word that has already been typed or tap for more word choices. 6. Continue typing your messa ge. T ap to send the messag e or tap for more options.
Entering T ext 33 • Double-tap on the word you want to change to correct a mis spelled word, then tap the delete key to erase one character . T ouch and hold the delete key to erase an entire w ord.
34 Section 4: Contacts and Y our Address Book This section allows you to manage your daily contacts by storing their name and number in your Address Book. Addres s Book entries can be sorted by name, entry , or group. Y ou can also synchronize your ta blet Address Bo ok with A T&T Address Book, the ne twork backup service.
Contacts and Y our Address Book 35 Adding a New Contact Use the following procedure to store a new contac t to your Address Book. Sa ving a Number from the H ome screen 1. From the Home screen, tap ➔ Contacts ➔ . 2. At the Save contact to prompt, tap Ta b l e t or Google .

Editing a Playlist Besides adding and re moving music fi les in a playlist, you can also rename the playlist.

54 Pictures and Videos Im age View er Options After you ta ke a photo or shoot a video, you ca n access various options from t he Pictures and Videos Image Viewer . Available options are : • Next Pic ture : displays the next pi cture (only displays in cam era mode).

56 Shooting Vide o Tip: When shooting video in direct sunlight or in bright conditions, it is recommended that you provide your subject with sufficient light by having the light source behind you. 1. From the Home screen, tap ➔ Came ra to activate the camera mode.

66 WPS Button Connec tion The WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button is a standard for easy and secure wireless network set up and connections. T o use WPS, the connecting device must support WPS and be compatible with Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) security .

From the Home screen, tap ➔ Settings ➔ Wireless and network ➔ Bluetooth settings and tap Scan devices . Y our tablet begins scanning and lists any discovered devices in the Blueto oth devices section.
68 2. Ta p VPN name , add a name for this connection using the keypad, then tap OK . 3. Ta p Set VPN server , add a name using the keypad, then tap OK . 4. Ta p Enable L2TP secret to make a checkmark (i f desired). 5. Ta p Set L2TP secret and enter a password (if desired), then tap OK .

92 Wi-Fi Status Ind icators The following icon s show your Wi-Fi connection status at a glance: Displays when Wi-Fi is connected, active, and communicating with a Wi reless Access Point (W AP). Displays when Wi-Fi is active but there is a communication issue with th e target Wire less Access Point (W AP).

96 PC Connections Y ou can connect your de vice to a PC using an optional PC data cable using various USB connectio n modes. When you connect the device to a PC, you can synchron ize files with Windows Media Player , tra nsfer data to a nd from your devi ce directly , or use the Kies program and use you device as a wireless modem for a PC.
Connections 97 Connec ting a s a Mass St ora ge Device Y ou can connect your device to a PC as a removable disk and access the file director y . If yo u insert a memor y card in the device, you can also access the files directory from t he memory card by using the device as a memory card reader .
