Call Functions 18 Section 3: Call Functions This section explains how to make and answer call s. This sect ion also inc ludes the fe atures and functi onality associ ated with making or answering calls. Making a Call — Number Entr y Dialing 1. With the phone on, enter the nu mber you wish to call using the keypad.
19 Man u al P ause Calling When you call automa ted system s (like banking ser vices), you are often requi red to enter a password or account number . Instead of manually enterin g the numb er s each time, you can store the numbers in your Contacts along with special characters called pauses.
Call Functions 20 Making a Call — Speed Dialing Y ou can store phone num bers and contact name s in your phone’ s Contacts list . Speed Dialing let s you quickly a nd easily dial an y conta ct in yo ur Co ntacts list by using tha t contact’ s location number in the list.
21 Quick Sear ch Di alin g a Con tact T o find and dial a Cont act, do the foll owing: 1. In standby mode, press the number keys that correspond to the first few lette rs of the Contact name, as shown. 2. Press the Up navigation key . The Contact List screen appears showing the desired Contact name, as shown.

Menu Navigation 30 Section 4: Menu Na viga tion This section explains the menu navi gation for your phone. It also includes an outline of all the a vailable menus a ssociated with your phone. Menu Naviga tion Access the menus and sub menus in your phone using the navigation key ( ) and soft ke ys ( ), or use a shortcut.

Entering T e xt 32 Section 5: Entering T ext This section outlines how to sele ct the desired text entry mode when entering characters using the phone keypad . This section also describes how to use the T9 predictive text entr y system to reduce the number of key stro kes needed to enter text .
33 Using T9 ® Mod e T9 Word recogn izes commonly used words for the numeric sequence of ke y presse s and inserts the word into your message. T9 Word is much faster th an the tradit ional metho d of text entr y (Abc) and requires only one key press per letter of the word that you’re spelling.

Messaging 46 Section 7: Messaging This section explains ho w to send or receive different types of messages. This section also describes the features and functio nality a ssociat ed with messaging. Types of Messages Y our phone is able to send and receive T ext and Picture messages to compatible phones an d devices.
47 – Save As Draft — Save the message to your Dra ft folder . – Save As Prese t — Save the text in this message as a new Preset Msg. – Add T o Contacts — Save the recipient’ s number or e-mail address as a Contacts list entry .
Messaging 48 1. In standby mo de, p ress and hold the Camera key ( ). The camera viewfinder screen appears in the dis play . 2. Using the display as a viewfinder , when the image that you wish to send appears in the display , press TA K E ( ) to take a p icture.
49 • Press the Sounds soft key , then select My Sounds . The foll owing options ap pear in the display: – Record New — Rec ord a new mem o to insert into the m essage. Note: Y ou can record and insert a voice memo of up to 60 seconds in length, if you record first before attaching a picture.
Messaging 50 Tip : T o launch the Create Pic Msg screen using a voice command — In standby mode, press and hold until the phone prompts, “ Say a command. ” Say “ Send Picture ” into the microphone. Y ou are then prompted to say a Contact name or a number for the first recipient of the message.

If you wish to insert a sound into your Picture message, use the Down naviga tion key to highlight the Sound: field and do the f ollowing; otherwise, proceed to step 8. • Press the Sounds soft key , then select My Sounds . The fol lowi ng options ap pear in the display: – Record New — Rec ord a new mem o to insert into the m essage.

53 4. Once a Picture message has been downloaded to your phone, the new Picture message appears in the display . If the message includes a soun d file, the phone begins playing it. Note: For more information on viewing and managing received picture messages, see “Inbox” on page 53.

Listen to V oicemail Now When you choose to review your new voicemail message(s) right away , your phone calls your voice ma ilbox so tha t you can listen to the message(s).
59 Message Sett ings Use the Msg Settings sub-menu to define setting s for your text and picture messages. 1. In standby mode, press the Menu soft key , then select Messages ➔ Msg Settings .
Widgets 60 Section 8: W idgets Widgets are special icons that yo u can use to laun ch particular phone features and functions or to quic kly access part icular Internet addres ses. Y ou can acces s the widgets on your U 460 phone by using the Widget Bar .
61 Configure W idgets This option lets you select which widgets appear in the Widget Bar . Note: Y ou cannot Change, Delete, or Move the Per s o n al i z e ( ), My Account () , o r Storefron t ( ) widgets. 1. In stan dby mode , select t he Pe rsonalize widget ( ), then select Per s on a l i ze Widgets .
Browser 62 Section 9: Browser This section outlines ho w to launch Browser , ho w to navigate to other pages on the web, and ho w the keys on the keyp ad are used with the web application.
63 • Simple text. Y ou can act upon options or li nks by using the soft keys. Browse r soft key s The bottom of the Browser display is a bar that contains browser commands. The Left and Right ( ) soft keys on the keypad are used t o execute the command that appears above them i n the display .
Games & Apps 64 Section 10: Games & Apps This section explains the Games & Apps features wh ere users can download multimedia, applic ation s, games, and check news and sports.
65 Section 11: Camera Use your MyShot phone to take fu ll color digital pictures, display them on your ph one’ s vivid color display , and instantly share them with family and friends. It’ s fun, and as easy to use as a traditional po int-and-click camera.
Camera 66 Press Send ( ) to save the picture and inc lude it in a Picture m essage. (See “Send Picture Messages in Camera Mode” on page 47 for more information.) Press the Erase soft key to e rase the photo. Tip : Y ou can change a number of the camera’ s settings to suit particular uses for your pictures.
67 Color Effect — Lets you select a color filter for your photos. Memory Counter — Indicates the nu mber of photos stored in the My Ima ges folder and the maximum number of photos you can save at the current Resolution and Quality settings.
Camera 68 Shooting Mode Shooting Mode lets you take a single picture, multiple pictures in succession, or a sin gle picture in a Fun Frame at the touch of the TA K E key ( ). Single Shot Mode 1. In camera mo de, press the Options soft key , then select // ➔ Single Shot .
