Y our Phone 20 Icons Icon Description Shows the received signal strength. The greater the number of bars, the better the signal strength. Appears when a call is in progress.
Y our Phone 21 Backlight The display is illuminated b y a backlight. When you press any k ey , the backlight illuminates. It turns off if no ke y is pressed within a given period of time, depending on th e Back Light men u option. T o specify the length of time f or which the backlight is active , set the Back Ligh t menu option ( Menu 6.

Getting Star ted 23 Getting Started Installing the SIM Card When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are provided with a plug-in SIM card loaded with y our subscription details, such as your PIN, and an y optional ser vices a vailab le.

The SIM card and phone memories, although ph ysically separate , are used as if they w ere a single entity , called the Phonebook.

Putting a Call on Hold Y ou can place the current call on hold at any time . Y ou can make another call while y ou have a call in prog ress if this ser vice is supported by the network.

T e xt Messages 73 T ext Messages The SMS (Shor t Message Ser vice) function is a network ser vice and ma y not be suppor ted by your netw ork. Messages can be sent by te xt, fax, Email and paging messaging systems, pro vided that these services are suppor ted by y our network.
T ext Messages 74 Delete : allows y ou to delete obsolete messages. Send : allows you to resend the message . Reply : (inbo x only): allows you to reply to the sender b y sending a te xt message. Y ou can also change the SMS center number , if required.

Camera 93 Camera Using the camera module b uilt in your phone , you can tak e pictures of people or e v ents while on the mov e. Additionally , you can send photos to other peo ple in a picture message or as an e-mail attachment. The camera produces JPEG pictures.

Sound Settings 95 Sound Settings Y ou can use the Sound Settings f eature to customize various settings, such as the: ● Ring melody , v olume and type ● Sounds made when y ou press a k ey , mak e an error or receive a message Ring T one This option allows y ou to select the required r ing melody .
Sound Settings 96 Melody : the phone rings using the ring melody selected via the Vibration : the phone vibrates b ut does not ring. Vibra+Melody : the phone first vibrates three times and then star ts ringing. Keypad T one This option allows y ou to select the tone that the keypad generates when yo u press a ke y .
Sound Settings 97 Single Beep : the phone beeps once. SMS CB T o ne This option allows y ou to select how the phone informs you that a ne w cell broadcast (CB) message has been received. The f ollowin g options are av ailable. OFF : the phone does not use the CB tone.

Infrared Activate Infrared Activ ate provides use of y our phone as a modem or to synchronize to the EasyGPRS application.

If there is not communication between y our phone and the IrD A -compliant de v ice within 30 seconds of activ ating the f eature, it is automatically deactiv ated. Note: For the best perf or mance, use the optional data link cab le.

Phone Settings 104 Phone Lock When the Phone Lock f eature is enabled, the phone is lock ed and you must enter the 8-digit phone pass word each time the phone is switched on. The passw ord is factory set to “00000000”. T o change the phone pass word, ref er to the Chang e P assw ord menu option.
Phone Settings 105 Enable : y ou are required to enter the SIM Lock pass word when you s witch the phone on. FDN Mode The FDN (Fix ed Dial Number) mode, if supported by y our SIM card, allows y ou to restr ict y our outgoing calls to a limited set of phone numbers.
Phone Settings 106 Display Settings Brightness This option allows y ou to adjust the contrast of the d isplay and make it lighter or dark er . T o adjust the display contrast: 1. Select the required displa y , Main LCD or Front LCD , and press the Select soft ke y .
