9 Before you ca n use this product Before you ca n use your Internet radio, you must have the f ollowing: A broadba nd Internet connection. A wireless a ccess point (Wi-Fi) or a wired Ethernet connection (10 or 100 Mbits/sec with RJ45 connection; For RCR-7 only) connected to your broa dba nd Internet, preferably vi a a router .
10 Connecting your radio to your network 1. Pla ce your radio on a surfa ce a nd plug the mains lea d into the Mains input socket located on the rear of your radio (marked ) ensuring that the plug is pushed fully into the socket. 2. Plug the other end of the mains lea d into a wall socket a nd switch on the wall socket.
11 When using a wireless network (Ignore this section if wired LAN Internet connection is used with RCR-7WF) 1. Turn on the radio by pressing the Power button.
12 GB 3. There may be more tha n 1 wireless networks that your radio finds. The display now shows “Select networks”. Press the Tuning+/- buttons to search your wireless network. This is a na me that is allocated to the a ccess point by the person who set up the network -for exa mple: ‘My Home Network’.

14 GB Selecting a n Internet radio station There are several thousa nd Internet ra dio stations to sele ct, a nd there are 3 ways of selecting ways which are by Location, Genre a nd Search. Location: ena ble s you to choose a ra dio station from the list first by geogra phic region a nd then by country .
15 Selecting an Internet radio station by location 1. Press the Tuning+/- buttons until the display shows <Location>, a nd then press the Select button to enter the Location search. 2. Press the Tuning+/- buttons until the country is shown on the display.
16 GB Selecting an Internet radio station by genre 1. Press the Tuning+/- buttons until the display shows <Genre>, a nd then press the Select button to enter the Genre search. 2. Press the Tuning+/- buttons until the genre you would like to choose is shown on the display.
17 Selecting an Internet radio station by Search 1. Press the Tuning+/- buttons until the display shows <Search>, a nd then press the Select button to enter the Search. 2. Use the T uning+/- button and the Select button to enter the key word of the radio station na me you would like to search.
18 GB V olume control While the radio station is playing, you ca n change the volume by pressing V olume+/- buttons on the top pa nel. Audio setting (tone control) Y our ra dio ha s ba ss and treble chara cteristics of the sound can be adjusted to your personal ta ste.
19 Listening to previously broadca st material Some radio station s allow you listen to progra ms that have already been broadca st. When you select a ra dio station that ha s this facility , the station does not start playing immediately, but instead the display shows the options ‘Live’ a nd ‘On dem a nd’.
20 GB Customizing your radio on website In addition to storing your favorite radio stations in the radio presets, your radio allows you to cre ate a customized list of stations which ca n a ppear in a speci al menu on the ra dio called ‘My Stuff’.
21 Configure My Strea ms 1. Once logged into your Reciva website a ccount, you ca n add your own Internet radio stre a ms to the My Strea ms section, which is listed under the My Account section. T ypically , these will be Internet radio stations that you will have found using your computer.
22 GB Window Share s Set up the PC to allow your radio to access your audio files via Window Shares (make the music file shared) 1. Plea se ensure that your PC is available on the sa me network a s your Internet radio. Using Windows Explorer, locate the folder where your audio files are stored.
23 UPnP server Set up a Windows PC to allow the radio to access your audio files via a UPnP server 1. If your PC is running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista then you ca n use Microsoft’s Windows Media Player 1 1 (WMP 1 1) to a ct a s your UPnP (U niversal Plug a nd Play) medi a server .
24 GB 5. Select the na med server again using the T uning+/- and the Select buttons. If WMP 1 1 is now able to communicate with your radio you will be presented with some media selection options by the server software.

27 Browsing the list of tracks currently queued up for playback 1. Press the Queue button, the currently playing tra ck na me will be displayed. 2. Press the T uning+/- buttons to see which tra cks are queued up for playba ck. If you want to jump to a particular tra ck in the queue, press the Select button when the required tra ck is displayed.
28 GB Playing tracks in the queue repeatedly 1. When the ra dio is playing, press the Ba ck button to go ba ck to the main Mode menu. 2. Press the Tuning+/- buttons until “Media Player” is shown on the display then press the Select button to enter the Media Player menu.

Press the T uning+/- buttons to cha nge the frequency . 2. Long press the Tuning+/- buttons to search for the next available radio station.

This ca n be configured to two sensitivity levels to suit the output level of the connected device. 1. 33 Sleep timer Y our radio ca n be set to turn off after a preset ti me ha s ela psed. The sleep setting ca n be a djusted between 15 a nd 3 hours 15 minutes in 15-minute increments. 1. Ma ke sure the radio is on and playing. 2. Press the T ime Set button, a nd the display shows “Sleep T imeout”.
34 GB Backlight Press the Dimmer button to adjust the display ba cklight settings to suit your needs. Separate settings are availa ble for Active mode (while operating the radio), Ina ctive mode (when listening), a nd Sta ndby mode (when the radio is off with just the clock display showing).
